Jaafar Jackson seems destined to portray the late King of Pop, Michael Jackson, in the upcoming biopic titled “Michael,” set to release in 2026.

As the son of Michael’s older brother, Jermaine Jackson, and Alejandra Genevie Oazyaza, Jaafar has been immersed in the musical legacy of his family from an early age.

He began forging his own path in the music industry with the release of his debut single, “Got Me Singing,” in 2019.

Additionally, he made an appearance in the short-lived reality series “The Jacksons: Next Generation.”

However, his biggest break came in January 2023 when he was cast to play his late uncle in Antoine Fuqua’s biopic.

Before landing the role of his uncle, Jaafar often reminisced about the time they spent together.

“I recall being at Michael’s Santa Barbara mansion, Neverland, playing hide and seek, going on rides, watching movies, and just having a great time,” he said in a 2020 interview.

He fondly remembered the family gatherings at Neverland Ranch during the holidays, where laughter and love filled the air.

Jaafar was still discovering his own musical direction when his uncle Michael passed away at the age of 50 in June 2009.

Reflecting on that painful time, he expressed, “I would have asked him many questions about the career I have chosen for myself.”

Speaking about the day Michael died, Jaafar admitted, “It was very tough. I can’t even put my mind back to how it felt that day.”
