Supriya Ganesh and her The Pitt costars are ready to let loose on Emmys weekend!

When asked about her plan for the Sept. 14 awards ceremony while chatting with PEOPLE at the One House Toast to the Emmys event on Sept. 11, the 27-year-old actress joked, “Maybe make some bad decisions.”

She revealed that “there’s going to be a party bus” for the cast to make their way around the party circuit.

“The whole cast is going, we’re going to a bunch of [pre-parties] on Saturday. And yeah, I can’t wait,” Ganesh says, adding, “I think the bad decisions might be made on the party bus.”

According to the actress, a group of “like 13 to 14 people” from the cast are also attending the Emmys ceremony at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. “We’re all going to be there. We’re all going to be there in support of Noah [Wyle] and Katherine [LaNasa]. And I guess ourselves too,” she tells PEOPLE.

Wyle and LaNasa both received acting nominations, while the show itself is up for the Outstanding Drama Series award. In total, the medical drama — which follows a group of healthcare workers in a Pittsburgh hospital emergency department — earned an impressive 13 nominations for its debut season.

As for the show’s chances of winning big, Ganesh says, “We’re all hopeful. We all have our fingers, toes and everything [crossed]. So, yeah, let’s see. I think we’ll put up a good fight. And I’m cautiously optimistic.”

Ganesh, who plays third-year resident Dr. Samira Mohan, tells PEOPLE it “means so much” to be nominated alongside her costars for the Outstanding Drama Series award.

“I get so many South Asian women, doctors, especially, reaching out to me, saying they’re so happy to see themselves represented on screen,” says the actress, who was born in the U.S. to Indian parents before moving back to India at the age of 3.

“And I was in between India and the U.S.,” she continues. “So I remember what it was like growing up in India as a kid and growing up in the U.S. as a kid and just being like, ‘Huh, none of these people on TV look like me.’ And the shock of being in India and being like, ‘Wait, it doesn’t have to be this way.’ “

Ganesh adds: “It just means so much that I can, like, give back to the community.”

During her conversation with PEOPLE, Ganesh teased what fans can expect from season 2 of The Pitt, which premieres in January.

“Well, it’s going to be really gross. And I’m excited for people to see it,” she reveals, referring to the show’s raw and unflinching portrayal of real-life medical situations.

“The first episode we filmed it, and I was like, ‘I’ve never seen that before, even in all the EM:RAP [medical education] videos I watched to prep. I was like, ‘That was one I had not seen before, and it’s a real procedure,’ ” she adds.

The Pitt is streaming on HBO Max. Season 2 premieres in January.

The 77th Emmy Awards will air live on Sunday, Sept. 14 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on CBS. See the full list of nominees on the official Emmy’s website.
