Filming FRIENDS was likely one of the most memorable experiences for its cast. Helmed by Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer, the behind-the-scenes videos from the shoot reveal how much fun the cast and crew had while filming the legendary sitcom.

However, while the shoot was fun and led to several iconic BTS moments, it wasn’t always merry all the time.

During one particular scene, Matt LeBlanc ended up dislocating his shoulder in front of a live studio audience, leading to the shoot being halted and LeBlanc in cast for the next couple of episodes. The injury was so shocking and sudden that his co-star Aniston couldn’t even watch.

The sets of FRIENDS were usually full of laughter and fun, leading to many memorable moments between the cast and crew. But during the filming of season 3’s The One Where No One’s Ready, the cast and crew witnessed a traumatic moment when Matt LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder.

During a 2017 appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! LeBlanc revealed how it happened. During the scene, Joey and Matthew Perry’s Chandler are fighting over a chair and Joey goes on to jump over the coffee table to sit on the chair.

But the moment he landed on the chair, he dislocated his shoulder.

However, the cast and crew did not understand what was wrong, and LeBlanc walked off the set backstage in pain. He also shared a hilarious tidbit revealing he thought he was hallucinating when he ran into E.R.’s Anthony Edwards, who was shooting nearby.

This all happened in front of a live audience, who were flown in from all over the country after winning a Diet Coke contest.

Unfortunately, they were all sent home since LeBlanc had to be taken to the hospital, and the shoot was shut down. While the audience was flown back when the shoot resumed, Joey ended up in a cast for the next couple of episodes due to the actor’s injury.

During HBO MAX’s FRIENDS reunion special, the six cast members, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, and David Schwimmer, all reunited and watched some old, never-before-seen, footage from their iconic sitcom.

The footage also included the scene where Matt LeBlanc dislocated his shoulder during the filming of The One Where No One’s Ready (see YouTube). Aniston couldn’t even muster up the strength to watch that particular scene while the others looked on in horror.

The actress covered her eyes with her hands while crying out, ‘Are you for real… Jesus,’ and buried her head in Kudrow’s lap.

In the footage, while Schwimmer called for ‘Cut,’ the rest of the cast looked oblivious to what had just taken place.

Despite the chaos of that unforgettable moment, the enduring camaraderie of the FRIENDS cast only strengthened, reminding us that even in the face of adversity, laughter and friendship will always prevail.
