“I just left him in a hole”: Leonardo DiCaprio Accused Tom Hardy of Having Too Much Fun During a Grueling Scene in Oscar-Winner’s $533M Film

Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio are two of Hollywood’s most accomplished and committed actors, and both have distinctive acting methods that set them apart.
DiCaprio is renowned for thoroughly immersing himself in his characters—both physically and emotionally.
Hardy’s acting, on the other hand, is distinguished by his extraordinary physicality and the intensity he puts into every role he plays.

Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Hardy reunited on screen in a 2015 action drama that brought in $533 million worldwide, following their collaboration in Christopher Nolan’s 2010 movie Inception.
They are good friends off-screen.
However, DiCaprio believes that his co-star enjoyed too much while filming one of the crucial sequences in the aforementioned action drama film, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu.
Leonardo DiCaprio Thinks Tom Hardy Had Extra Fun Doing This One Particular Scene
Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio are among the most popular duos in Hollywood.
The two became friends after initially meeting while working together on Christopher Nolan’s 2010 movie Inception.
Later, the pair would appear in leading roles in the critically and commercially successful 2015 action drama The Revenant.
In the action movie, Hugh Glass, played by Leonardo DiCaprio, is attacked by a grizzly bear.
Following this, the group of frontiersmen decided to leave him with a small group of men so that he might be buried in peace after his demise.

John Fitzgerald, played by Tom Hardy, wanted to wrap up things quickly, so he killed Glass’ son and buried him in a makeshift grave, which sparked a rivalry between Glass and Fitzgerald.
Hardy claimed that he had no problem leaving the Oscar-winning actor in the hole.
“Well, it was very simple,” he said as he talked about filming the scene [via Behind the Scenes with Scott Carty] before adding, “I just left him in a hole. The rest is history.”.
Further, DiCaprio quipped that one particular scene had been more fun for his co-star.
“Come to think of it, that burial sequence was your extra little fun,” added DiCaprio. “You were like, ‘extra dirt on his face, man’.”
Nevertheless, they have remained close friends and have expressed that they get along well with each other, unlike their fictional counterparts.
Tom Hardy Thanked Leonardo DiCaprio for The Revenant Role
With The Revenant, a 2015 epic western, Tom Hardy and Leonardo DiCaprio’s collaboration reached new heights.
Tom Hardy claims Leonardo DiCaprio was the one who persuaded him to accept the Oscar-nominated role in The Revenant.

While taking the red carpet for the UK premiere of the movie, back in 2016 in Leicester Square, Hardy said:
“Leo gave me a call and Sean Penn had bailed and he was like, ‘When can we get you out here?’ No, I’m joking, but he did give me a call and we spoke and he said there’s good money and the script is awesome.”
“You need to do this before you go off and do this other film,” Hardy shared receiving the call from DiCaprio.
DiCaprio’s portrayal of frontiersman Hugh Glass earned him his first Academy Award for Best Actor, while Hardy received critical acclaim for his role as the antagonist, John Fitzgerald.
