Gervais hosted the Award Ceremony 5 times over a period of a decade and one time, Leonardo DiCaprio was a victim of his roast.

Australian actor Cate Blanchett and British comedian Ricky Gervais once appeared in an episode of BBC’s The Graham Norton Show and they had a few pretty exciting things to share.

When Graham Norton asked Blanchett about her experience with Gervais about her Golden Globes experience she said that she has appeared “several times.”

But it’s “a little bit like the experience of being in the room with you at the Golden Globes is a little bit like the tail end of a family Christmas where you know it’s drunk uncle,” Blanchett said of Gervais.

“Do we show him where the bathroom is?” she added.

And Gervais could certainly feel that as he recalled Leonardo DiCaprio.

“I can feel that and I can see the tension and then when I do a joke about them, they think oh that was all right, like Leo DiCaprio was laughing thinking you could have said a lot worse, you know?” Gervais said.

The beloved controversial comedian is a nightmare for a lot of celebrities when he has a public stage with a microphone.

Even, DiCaprio was looking a way out from the next word coming out of his mouth directed at him.

Gervais candidly revealed how American Press reacted to his jokes over 10 years as he hosted the Golden Globes five times.

“It changed as well because the first time I did it like 10 years ago,” the After Life actor told Graham Norton of his first time at the Globes.

“The sort of press particularly the industry press in America was like how dare how was he saying these awful things to the most beautiful people you know and then by the fifth time right they were going, good.

Give it to him we’re sick of celebrities. So it was quite zeitgeister, it sort of hit a mark last time and that but I’m really glad I did it but I think that’s enough.”.

Gervais, famous for his brutal monologues at the Globes roasting guest celebrities in the audience, last appeared on the stage in 2020.

The actor once said that he did not want to do it again as he believed that he needed to move on.
