Celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay volunteers at a Melbourne food bank amid the devastating bushfires… after pop star Lizzo did the same

Gordon Ramsay has pitched in to help Australian communities devastated by the bushfire crisis.

The 53-year-old is Down Under promoting his Quick & Delicious recipe book, and stopped in at Foodbank Victoria on Monday to surprise workers and lend a hand.

Dressed in a casual black shirt and an orange high visibility vest, the world famous chef got busy packing boxes.

He aided the food bank in packing vital supplies, including food and water, for people affected by the Australian bushfire crisis.

On the Foodbank Victoria Facebook page, organisers wrote: ‘Our staff and volunteers were treated to a surprise today as Gordon Ramsay popped in to thank them for all their hard work’.

The Michelin-star chef also stopped to pose with workers at the warehouse, beaming for the snap.

Last week, Gordon transformed his Quick & Delicious book launch party into a fundraiser for the Red Cross Disaster Relief and Recovery Fund.

Pop star Lizzo also dropped by Foodbank Victoria last week to help pack boxes for stricken communities.

The Good As Hell singer, 31, visited a Foodbank centre in Melbourne, where she packed emergency hampers and greeted fellow volunteers.

‘We had the one and only Lizzo helping us sort and pack hampers in the warehouse today!’ Foodbank wrote on their Facebook page.

Lizzo told the volunteers: ‘Thank you so much for volunteering your time and your energy and your hearts… Let’s go get some boxes!’ .
