Carmen Electra Reveals If She’d Join Newly Announced Baywatch Reboot: ‘I Still Look Really Good in That Suit’
She teased that she’s “talking to” the team behind the Fox series “right now”

Will Lani McKenzie return in the new Baywatch reboot series? Carmen Electra isn’t shutting down the idea.
Days after Fox revealed that a reboot of the famous action-drama series has been greenlit, Electra was asked whether she’d consider putting on the famous red bathing suit once again, and she definitely didn’t say no.
The 53-year-old star teased that it “could be fun” to reprise her role in the reboot series as she revealed that she’s “talking to” the team behind the series “right now.”
“I don’t know if I’d want to be in the water necessarily, but I could do the slow-motion run — I can definitely do that,” Electra told TMZ.

She has some doubts about getting back in the water, though.
“I love being around the ocean — working in it is very different,” she said.
“When you’re working in the ocean, it is very complicated.”
However, there’s one thing she has no reservations about: “I still look really good in that suit, so that is not a problem.”
The reboot series will debut with a 12-episode season, per a press release from the network.
It will also introduce a “hot new cast, adrenaline, romance, slo-mo spectacle and the iconic red swimsuit!”
“The series reboot will celebrate the franchise’s enduring legacy, while re-energizing it for today’s global audience,” the official logline read.
“Fans can expect all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline.”

Electra’s interest in revisiting the role that launched her career in 1997 is nothing new.
In 2022, she told PEOPLE she “would absolutely participate” if there was ever a revival of the series, as she recalled having to “pinch myself” when she joined.
“It was the No.1 show in the world, and I just couldn’t believe it.”
“I think they should bring Baywatch back,” she said.
“I’m 100 percent down for [a reboot] to happen.
I think someone should make it happen.”
Electra is enthusiastic about returning to the beach, but the same cannot be said of all the Baywatch alums.
Nicole Eggert, who played Roberta “Summer” Quinn for two seasons, recently said her experience on the show was “weird” during a May appearance on Steve Kmetko’s podcast.
“We were being ripped apart in the press,” she said, which meant “the casting doors were not opening anymore,” and she felt like her “accomplished career” no longer mattered.
“And then all of a sudden it was like we were called ‘Baywatch bimbos’ and these dumb bimbos on the beach and it’s T & A,” she remembered.
“And then on the other hand, you have this number-one hit on your hand, and it’s like what a kerfuffle.
What a mess.”
Baywatch can be streamed on Tubi.
