With his fighting future heating up this week, a former world champion from his past wants to finally settle the score with Manny Pacquiao.

Linked most recently to a rematch with former world champion Floyd Mayweather at the turn of next year, eight-time world titleholder Manny Pacquiao is targeted to fight his long-time nemesis in a professional bout.

And with the Filipino star also confirming talks on a potential pairing against an Olympic hero, the history-making pugilist continues to draw links to a whole host of fights.

Once targeted to make a monumental trip to the UK to compete against a British former world champion, Pacquiao has been urged to settle this long-standing rivalry once and for all.

Amir Khan vows to fight Manny Pacquiao in retirement comeback

Twice tied to a showdown with Bolton favorite Amir Khan during their respective careers, Pacquiao was expected to take on the former world champion before fights with Timothy Bradley and Jeff Horn were set.

And failing to ever eke out terms on a deal to fight the British star, Pacquiao has received a new callout from Khan, in a fresh bid to finally share the ring with the Filipino sensation.

“Let’s go @MannyPacquiao, I’m up for one final dance but only with you as my partner,” Khan posted on X.

“You’re still talking rematch with Floyd (Mayweather)? Let’s make OUR fight that never happened. This is the ONLY one that gets me out of retirement – it’s what the fans always wanted.

Manny Pacquiao disputes most recent boxing result

Making his first venture to the ring to snap a four-year hiatus from the sport earlier this summer, Pacquiao would take on Mario Barrios for the WBC welterweight crown.

And forcing the defending gold holder the distance, Pacquiao could only manage a majority decision draw against Barrios, who retained his crown as a result.

Expected to make his comeback next year amid links to a rematch with Mayweather, Pacquiao recently disputed the result of his fight with Barrios — insisting “I thought I clearly won that fight.”
