Searching for the truth about the death of the “King of Rock” Elvis Presley - 1

“King of Rock and Roll” Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley is one of the most influential American artists of the 20th century. He is considered a cultural icon and is known as the “King of Rock’n’Roll”, “Rock Legend”. Elvis’s most famous songs include Loving You, One Night, It’s Now or Never, Good Luck Charm, Return to Sender, … which still excite fans to this day.

But when his career was still on the rise, Elvis Presley suddenly passed away while preparing for a big tour at the age of 42.

Sad day

On Monday, August 15, 1977, Elvis Presley woke up at 4 p.m. After spending the evening watching television, playing with his daughter Lisa Marie, and arguing with his fiancée Ginger Alden, he went out to meet his dentist, Lester Hoffman, at 11 p.m. and returned home at 12:30 a.m.

At about 2:15, Elvis called the doctor again because of a toothache and was advised to take some medicine. On the way back to the room, he saw that Lisa Marie was still awake and playing, so he carried her to bed, kissed her forehead and said goodnight. That was the last time Lisa Marie saw her father alive.

On the morning of August 16, 1977, Elvis Presley still couldn’t sleep and decided to go to the bathroom to read a book. “Don’t fall asleep in there!” Ginger said and continued to sleep.

Ginger Alden woke up at 1:30 p.m., not seeing Elvis in bed, but not paying much attention. A while later, she got up, dressed and put on makeup, then walked to the bathroom door, where the light was still on, and gently knocked on the door and called Elvis. There was no answer. Sensing something was wrong, she pushed the door open and found Elvis slumped on the floor in a kneeling position with a pool of vomit.

As soon as she discovered that her fiancée had fainted, she ran to call for help. Joe Esposito, Elvis’s best friend, quickly ran over. They pounded on Elvis’s chest and gave him CPR to help him breathe, but his body was numb and cold, his face was swollen and purple, his eyeballs were crimson. “Oh, God, please don’t go, please don’t die!”, Joe said as he performed CPR.

At 2:55 p.m., 22 minutes after Ginger called, an ambulance with a team of doctors and resuscitation specialists arrived, but it was too late. It was 3:30 p.m. on August 16, 1977.

Three days later, the authorities released Elvis’s death certificate, stating the cause as “high blood pressure, myocardial infarction.” However, rumors and various theories have always surrounded Elvis Presley’s death.

What is the real cause?

It is believed that this was just a fabricated cause to cover up the real reason because Presley’s family did not want his image to be affected. In fact, the cause of this sudden death was that Elvis Presley had taken up to 10 types of drugs and stimulants that no doctor dared to prescribe, including morphine and extremely strong sleeping pills.

In 1967, Dr. George Nichopoulos was the one who directly took care of Elvis, who was then 32 years old and weighed 74kg. He said that during this period, Elvis’ health seriously declined due to chronic pain, insomnia, high blood pressure, coma… Elvis was also hospitalized for pneumonia, hepatitis and megacolon. He gradually became more dependent on sleeping pills and painkillers to forget his sadness, physical pain and life pressure. Therefore, the hypothesis of arrhythmia due to drug overdose is considered the most reasonable.

But according to George Nichopoulos, Elvis’s personal physician, later revealed that the cause of Elvis Presley’s death was a very common disease. It was chronic constipation. The autopsy results showed that Elvis Presley’s colon diameter was up to 12-15.5 cm, 5-7.5 cm larger than that of a normal person. Instead of the usual length of about 1.3-1.5 m, Elvis Presley’s colon was 2.5-2.8 m long.

There is even a theory that Elvis Presley faked his death for profit. Many articles and witnesses confirm that the star is still alive. In 1988, Louise Welling, a woman in Missouri, claimed that she and her daughter saw Elvis twice in two places in the United States, once in Michigan and once in Mississippi. After that, a series of people claimed to have seen Elvis in Las Vegas (USA), in Stockholm (Sweden) and even in London (UK) in 2002.

However, with such a medical history and over-reliance on drugs, Elvis’s overdose leading to sudden death is still recognized by many people to this day, although drinking while not in control of his mind or staying sober forever is inexplicable.
