Dylan Dreyer was once again absent from Friday’s installment of the Today Show as she appears to take a step back from the spotlight after announcing that she has split from her husband.

The 43-year-old NBC meteorologist, who is also an anchor on The Third Hour, was replaced by journalist Laura Jarrett, 41, who joined Al Roker and Peter Alexander, filling in for Craig Melvin, on Friday. Dylan didn’t explicitly say why she has missed the show this week, but it comes amid significant developments in her personal life.

On July 18, she wrote on Instagram that she had separated from her husband, Brian Fichera. However, she stressed that they are amicable friends and will continue to co-parent their three children—eight-year-old Calvin, five-year-old Oliver, and three-year-old Russell—together.

Dylan shared, “For many years I have shared my family with you all – the highs and lows. The ups and downs. And all of the blessings and beautiful memories in between.

“I am incredibly grateful for the support and love you’ve given me through it all. For that reason, I want to share with you that a few months ago, Brian and I made the decision to separate.

“We began as friends and we will remain the closest of friends. Most importantly, we will continue to coparent our three wonderful boys together with nothing but love and respect for one another. Thank you as always for your support.” The couple tied the knot in October 2012.

In October 2024, Dylan posed a selfie of herself and her husband relaxing on the couch, which she paired with a similar throwback photo from their early days.

She captioned the post, “12 years of marriage and I’m still in my happy place. Sitting on the couch with @fishlense After I took this picture, Brian pointed out that I posted the same thing 2 years ago! Not much has changed and I wouldn’t change a thing. Love you Bri!!”

Brian has been absent from Instagram for more than six months. The split revelation follows Dylan being seen without her ring throughout recent weeks. The TV presenter previously opened up about the challenges in their relationship, mainly due to work commitments.
