Eight years ago, Jennifer Lopez was close to a famous rapper. Now that she’s officially single, will he take another shot?

Here it is, it’s (again) over. Ben Affleck, aged 52, and Jennifer Lopez, aged 55, won’t grow old together. Their story, reminiscent of a romantic comedy, did not culminate in a happy ending.

On August 20, the date that should have marked their second anniversary, the singer and actress filed for divorce. We can’t say it was unexpected, as their relationship had been hanging by a thread for weeks. Moreover, according to J.Lo, they separated last April 26.

Thus, they almost spent four months pretending—or perhaps not. In short, Ben and Jennifer are single again, and some are already speculating about who they will date next. Lopez particularly dislikes being alone: “I am one of those people who do not like to be alone. At this point in my life, I have no shame in admitting it. I believe we must embrace who we are,” she confessed in 2014.

Some call it the “JLo Syndrome.” She even joked about it in her music video for “This is Me… Now”: A love story.

Drake Wants to (Re)Try His Luck with Jennifer Lopez

It’s uncertain if Jennifer plans to take some time for herself, to breathe, or to grieve, but one thing is clear—someone is waiting for his chance to comfort her. Who? Drake! A few weeks ago, as the rumors about Bennifer intensified, In Touch Weekly boldly claimed that the 37-year-old Canadian singer tops the list of potential next romances for her life.

“Of course, he won’t make his move while she’s still married. He would never cross that boundary. But once things officially end with Ben, he’ll be ready and eager to show her a good time,” a source close to the “God’s Plan” performer explained. And now, the path is clear!

DraLo, Episode 2…

J.Lo and Drake back together? Not such an outlandish idea upon reflection. Recall that in late 2016, after Jennifer Lopez had split from Casper Smart a few months earlier, she and Drake spent quite a bit of time together. Despite their 18-year age difference—a minor detail for J.Lo—they largely behaved in public as if they were a couple. They were spotted cuddling, dancing, kissing, and Drake even gifted her an expensive necklace. Fans dubbed them “DraLo.”

In fact, all this interaction was supposed to lead to a collaboration that never materialized. Nonetheless, by February 2017, Drake released a track, “Teenage Fever,” sampling “If You Had My Love,” a hit by Jennifer Lopez from 1999… It was around this time she began dating Alex Rodriguez.

“Jennifer has always been one of Drake’s greatest crushes, and he says what they shared back then was incredible,” the source told In Touch Weekly. He hadn’t pursued it further, but everyone knew he would have liked to date her seriously. Now, the ball is in J.Lo’s court.
