“21-Year-Old Cold Case Solved: Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel Finally Found”

In April 2000, Erin Foster and Jeremy Bechtel, two teenagers from Sparta, Tennessee, vanished without a trace.

They were last seen leaving a party in Foster’s 1988 Pontiac Grand Am, but neither they nor the car were ever found.

For over two decades, their disappearance remained one of Tennessee’s most perplexing cold cases.

The breakthrough came in late 2021, when Jeremy Sides, a civilian diver and YouTuber known for his channel Exploring with Nug, took it upon himself to investigate.

Using sonar technology, Sides discovered a submerged vehicle in the Calfkiller River near Highway 84 in White County, Tennessee.

Upon diving to inspect the vehicle, he confirmed it was Foster’s Pontiac Grand Am.

Inside, the remains of both teenagers were found, finally providing answers to their families and the community.

Authorities believe that Foster lost control of her vehicle while driving on Highway 84, which lacked a guardrail at that section in 2000.

The car likely slid off the road and into the river, where it remained hidden for over two decades.
