In the bustling heart of Detroit, the Gold family’s American Jewelry and Loan store became a household name through truTV’s reality series Hardcore Pawn, which aired from 2010 to 2015.

The show captivated audiences with its raw portrayal of the pawn business and the colorful personalities behind the counter.

But what became of these larger-than-life characters after the cameras stopped rolling?

Les Gold, the patriarch of the Gold family, continues to lead American Jewelry and Loan.

In 2019, he expressed his desire to expand the business both within and outside Detroit, emphasizing that retirement was not on his radar.

He also showcased his culinary skills on Food Network’s Chopped and appeared on LeagueOne: In the Spotlight! Les remains active in the community and continues to engage with fans and customers at the Detroit location.

Seth Gold, Les’s son and co-owner, has been instrumental in modernizing the family business.

In 2019, he launched FastPawn in collaboration with PawnMate Inc., an online payment service designed to streamline pawn operations.

Seth frequently shares insights into his entrepreneurial journey on social media, including travels to Italy, Australia, and Turkey.

He remains a prominent figure in the pawn industry and continues to work alongside his father at American Jewelry and Loan.

Ashley Broad, the Golds’ daughter, left the pawn business in 2015 to pursue her passion for jewelry design.

She founded AshleyGold.

com, an online store specializing in handmade jewelry, and also offers social media consulting through AKB Consulting.

In addition, Ashley hosts Pawn Chick Radio, a podcast focusing on fashion and lifestyle topics.

She resides in Bloomfield Township, Michigan, with her husband, Jordan Broad, and their children.

Ashley remains close to her family and occasionally visits American Jewelry and Loan.

Joel ‘Big Joe’ Shannon, the former head of security, was dismissed from the show after being caught stealing scrap gold.

He now operates Hi-Gear Transportation, a trucking and logistics company based in Livonia, Michigan, and lives with his wife, Felice, and their children.

Joel has maintained a low profile since his departure from the show but occasionally shares updates on social media.

Rich Pyle, a longtime store manager, left the pawn shop following a dispute with Les.

He later appeared on National Geographic’s Meltdown and launched a clothing line called RPM Gear.

Currently, Rich is the host and executive producer of Hole Nation, a sports and news show covering cornhole, and is also the drummer for the Detroit-based band Daniel Harrison and the $2 Highway.

He resides in Michigan and continues to pursue his passions in entertainment and music.

Fielding ‘Felix’ Teichman, a security staff member known for his distinctive beard, left the show after its sixth season.

He relocated to Austin, Texas, in 2016 and has maintained a low profile since.

Felix occasionally shares updates on social media but prefers to keep his personal life private.

Bobby Janiec, a former store employee, departed in 2016 and later appeared on Wrench Wars.

He then became the spokesperson for Bar’s Products Inc., a motor vehicle manufacturing company, before transitioning to a career as a freelance voice-over artist, streamer, and actor.

Bobby is active on platforms like TikTok, OnlyFans, and Twitch, and operates an online merchandise store.

Carneal ‘Hook’ Stiger, a security official known for his pranks on customers, was part of the show until the 20th episode of season 8.

He has since faded from the public eye and is believed to still reside in Detroit.
