General Hospital Sweeps 2025 Daytime Emmys, Making Television History
At the 52nd Annual Daytime Emmy Awards held on October 17, 2025, at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium in California, ABC’s General Hospital emerged as the night’s most decorated show, securing seven awards out of 16 nominations.
The ceremony, streamed live on watch.theemmys.tv and the Emmys app, was hosted by Mario Lopez and celebrated the achievements of daytime television professionals.
General Hospital clinched the coveted Outstanding Daytime Drama Series award, marking its second consecutive win in this category and extending its record for the most victories in this category overall.

The series triumphed over fellow nominees Days of Our Lives and The Young and the Restless, further solidifying its position as a daytime television powerhouse.
Nancy Lee Grahn received the Outstanding Lead Actress award for her portrayal of Alexis Davis on General Hospital.
In her acceptance speech, Grahn expressed gratitude to her fellow nominees, stating, “Ladies, we’ll share it, we’ll pass it around.
We’re all friends.
” She also took a moment to speak out against the Trump administration, ahead of No Kings Day on Saturday.
Paul Telfer won the Lead Actor in a Daytime Drama Series award for his portrayal of Xander Kiriakis on Days of Our Lives.
This marks Telfer’s first win and second nomination in the category.
In his emotional acceptance speech, he thanked his wife, Carmen Cusack, who was absent due to work, and paid tribute to the Days of Our Lives cast and crew.
Telfer also honored his late mother, who loved soap opera villains, recognizing how meaningful the win would be for her.
Lisa Yamada made history by winning the Outstanding Emerging Talent award for her work on The Bold and the Beautiful.

At just 23 years old, Yamada became the inaugural recipient of this newly introduced category, which recognizes up-and-coming talent in daytime drama.
Other notable winners included Jonathan Jackson and Alley Mills, who received awards in the supporting acting categories for their roles on General Hospital.
Alley Mills secured her second Emmy for her guest role on the show.
The event also honored Sir David Attenborough, who at 99 years old, became the oldest recipient of a Daytime Emmy, winning for his role as host of Netflix’s “Secret Lives of Orangutans.
” The 2025 Daytime Emmy Awards celebrated the exceptional talent and contributions of individuals in the daytime television industry, highlighting the continued success and evolution of daytime programming.
