Kid Rock storms off stage at Bon Jovi's Nashville Bar: 'I'm gone'

Kid Rock made headlines once again on February 8, 2025, for his explosive behavior during a surprise performance at Jon Bon Jovi’s Nashville bar.

The 54-year-old rocker was invited to join Bon Jovi keyboardist David Bryan for a special birthday celebration performance, where he was set to rock the crowd with a rendition of the Creedence Clearwater Revival classic “Proud Mary.”

However, what started as a festive occasion quickly turned into a chaotic scene, thanks to Kid Rock’s frustration with the audience’s lack of participation.

As Rock took the stage to cheers from the crowd, he encouraged the audience to clap along to the song. The energy was high as the crowd responded, but things soon took a turn for the worse when Rock noticed not enough people joining in.

Annoyed by the lack of enthusiasm, he halted the music mid-performance, demanding that the crowd get involved. “Hey, hey, stop,” he commanded. “If you ain’t gonna clap, we ain’t gonna sing. That’s how it’s gonna go.”

Trying to get the crowd on track, he once again signaled for the music to resume, guiding them in clapping along. Yet, his attempt to reignite the crowd’s energy fell flat, and frustration set in.

Rock once again stopped the performance, this time with a scathing remark: “You know what? F— y’all. If you ain’t gonna clap, I’m gone.” With that, the singer stormed offstage, leaving the bewildered band members behind.

Bryan and the rest of the group appeared confused as they watched Rock leave in a huff. After a brief pause, the band carried on without the volatile singer.

Kid Rock’s meltdown at the Nashville bar wasn’t an isolated incident. Known for his controversial behavior, the rock star has made waves in the past with his outspoken opinions and erratic outbursts.

His antics continue to spark public debate, especially with his vocal support for former President Donald Trump. In an interview with Rolling Stone last year, Rock confessed to embracing his polarizing persona.

“I’m part of the problem,” he admitted. “I’m one of the polarizing people, no question. Sometimes I bitch about other people, then I look in the mirror and I’m like, ‘Oh, yeah, why don’t you shut the f— up too?’”

This incident is the latest in a string of controversial moments for Kid Rock, who has never been one to shy away from confrontation or expressing his frustrations.

Despite his behavior, Bryan, whose birthday celebration had been overshadowed by Rock’s exit, appeared unfazed.

He took to Instagram after the event to express his appreciation for the support he received, thanking singer Big Kenny from the duo Big & Rich for his guest performance.

Bryan posted a clip of the performance, sharing his gratitude with fans for the birthday wishes. “THANK YOU FOR THE BIRTHDAY WISHES,” he wrote, adding, “Rocking at @jbjsnash last night with @bigkennytv!”

While Rock’s tantrum stole the spotlight, the show went on without him, proving that even the most unpredictable moments can’t always derail the music.

The incident comes just weeks after Kid Rock performed at the inauguration weekend event for former President Trump, where he joined fellow artists like Billy Ray Cyrus and Lee Greenwood at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally.

Rock has long been a supporter of Trump, and his political stances, coupled with his brash public image, have contributed to his reputation as one of rock’s most divisive figures.

Next on Kid Rock’s agenda is his highly anticipated “Rock the Country” tour, where he will join Nickelback for an 11-city run starting in April 2025.

Whether his behavior will remain as erratic as it has been in recent months remains to be seen, but one thing is for sure: Kid Rock’s tendency to stir up drama on and off stage is unlikely to slow down anytime soon.
