Denise Richards Shows Up at Aaron Phypers' Home, Claims He 'Put Down' Her Dog

Tensions reached a boiling point between Denise Richards and her estranged husband Aaron Phypers over the weekend when police were

called to his Calabasas home following an emotionally charged incident that included allegations of animal cruelty, property disputes, and escalating legal warfare between the former couple.

On Sunday, August 3, around 4:40 PM, the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Department responded to a call at the residence currently occupied by Aaron Phypers, his parents, and his brother.

The call came as Richards — who has a temporary restraining order (TRO) in place against Phypers following allegations of domestic abuse — allegedly arrived at the home unannounced.

While officers reported that there was no evidence a crime had taken place, the incident has ignited a fresh firestorm in what is shaping up to be one of Hollywood’s most dramatic and public divorces.

Denise Richards’ divorce attorney, Brett Berman, stated that the actress and former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star had every legal right to be at the property.

According to Berman, Richards had confirmed that Phypers was not present before entering the home, and her only intention was to retrieve her dogs — after allegedly being informed that Phypers had euthanized one of them without her knowledge or consent.

“On August 3, 2025, after confirming that Mr. Phypers was not present in her home, Ms. Richards entered the home to retrieve her dogs after learning that Mr. Phypers had put down one of her other dogs without her knowledge or permission,” Berman explained in a statement.

The claim shocked fans and sent social media into overdrive, but a source close to Phypers quickly shot down the accusation, calling it “100 percent, absolutely false.”

The insider alleged that Richards was “screaming and banging on the door” to get inside and that Phypers left the scene through a side exit upon hearing her voice.

This latest clash comes amid a spiraling divorce that has been marked by shocking revelations and mutual allegations of abuse. Phypers filed for divorce on July 7, 2025, after six years of marriage.

In subsequent court documents, Richards accused him of a harrowing pattern of domestic violence, including physical assault, emotional manipulation, and surveillance.

“Aaron would frequently violently choke me, violently squeeze my head with both hands, tightly squeeze my arms, violently slap me in my face and head, aggressively slam my head into the bathroom towel rack, threaten to kill me, hold me down with his knee on my back…,”

Richards wrote in her legal declaration, which was accompanied by photos of visible bruising and a black eye. “He would cry, beg me to stay, and promise to get help — none of which ever happened.”

Phypers has flatly denied all of the allegations, stating to the press: “Let me be unequivocally clear: I have never physically or emotionally abused Denise — or anyone.

These accusations are completely false and deeply hurtful. I have always tried to approach our marriage with love, patience, and respect.”

Despite their deeply fractured relationship, Richards and Phypers’ living arrangements have remained complicated.

In an episode of her Bravo reality series *Denise Richards & Her Wild Things* that aired in March, Richards revealed that she no longer lives in their shared home due to Aaron’s extended family taking up residence — initially meant to be a temporary stay, now going on over three years.

As a result, Richards claimed she’s been renting three separate townhomes: one for her daughters Lola and Eloise, one as an office, and one as a private space for her and Phypers to occasionally meet.

During that same episode, the couple strangely asserted that they would “never divorce,” even if they stopped loving each other.

“Even if we hate each other, I’m not gonna f—— get divorced,” Richards declared at the time. Phypers echoed the sentiment, suggesting they would live in separate homes if needed but remain together.

Yet that vow quickly unraveled. Since Phypers’ official divorce filing in July, accusations have only intensified. Richards’ attorney accused Phypers of violating the TRO by distributing private materials from her stolen laptop and cell phone.

According to Berman, Phypers has publicly referenced text messages and photographs that allegedly show Richards cheating on him and being physically abusive — claims Berman has labeled as “false and defamatory.”

Phypers, for his part, responded by saying, “Nothing was stolen, and nothing is missing — except, perhaps, Ms. Richards’ moral compass.”

With both parties trading increasingly personal and damaging accusations, the public nature of their split has raised serious concerns about privacy, safety, and truth.

While no charges have been filed following Sunday’s incident, it marks another disturbing chapter in a conflict that has moved far beyond family court.

As for the disputed claim regarding the euthanized dog, no independent confirmation has yet emerged. Still, the emotional weight of such an allegation has added even more fuel to the legal and moral battle now raging between the former spouses.

Whether or not Richards’ latest claims hold up in court, one thing is certain — this is no ordinary celebrity breakup.

It’s a volatile, deeply painful war playing out in full view of the public eye, with both sides seemingly unwilling to back down. The fallout, legal or personal, could last for years.
