While countless Swifties rushed to see Taylor Swift in concert during her Eras Tour, NFL fans had a completely different reaction when the singer supported her boyfriend and Kansas City Chiefs player, Travis Kelce.

With Swift and Kelce going public with their love in 2023, fans continuously criticized the NFL for turning the cameras toward the singer.

Becoming somewhat of a joke during the games, many expressed their disdain for Swift, causing Vince Gill to come to her defense.

Sitting down with the Oklahoma Hall of Fame to talk about his career and the music industry, Gill defended Swift and Kelce.

Having watched the backlash the couple received during her appearance at NFL games, the singer said, “I’ve always been crazy about her and I just laugh when everybody gets so uptight when she goes to football games.

Not fully understanding the concern of fans when it came to Swift, Gill turned his attention to NFL owners like Jerry Jones.

“What’s wrong with you? Somebody said, ‘What do you think about her’? I said ‘Hell, they don’t cut away to her as much as they do Jerry Jones at the Dallas Cowboys games — what’s the big deal?’”

Vince Gill Mesmerized By The Stardom Of Taylor Swift
Just like any couple, both Kelce and Swift showed support for their careers and often cheered on each other as they expanded their stardom.

And according to Gill, there was nothing different about the two than any other couple.

“It’s just a girl likes a guy and they’re going to a ballgame.

As for his own connection with Swift, Gill once covered the singer’s hit song “Red” when he shared the stage with Alison Krauss at the CMA Awards.

Having watched Swift’s career blossom over the years, he insisted, “She’s one of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen.

Other than Gill pointing to her beauty, he promised her talents when far beyond the camera, putting her in a select group of icons.

“There’s just a handful of people that they have that charisma.

They own a room.

It’s fascinating to watch.

I’m a wallflower.
