a longtime American Idol exec discovered

dead at her California home along with

her husband and what police are

considering a double homicide. Law

enforcement confirmed to EN officers

responded to a welfare check on July

14th for Robin K and Thomas Duca. Upon

arriving at their Enino, California

home, police discovered Robin and Thomas

seemingly with multiple gunshot wounds,

pronouncing both dead at the scene. For

now, police said there’s no details

surrounding a suspect, nor a potential

motive one day into their ongoing

investigation, with a TMZ source noting

their deaths are considered a double

homicide. The outlet also reporting cops

were called to their home twice in one

week after neighbors saw someone jumping

over their fence last week with police

saying no sign of forced entry was

found. It’s unclear whether these are

related incidents as well as who

initiated the welfare check. Robin was a

music supervisor with the singing

competition series for more than 10

seasons, plus a slew of other

productions across her decades spanning

career.

is uh really shaken up the American Idol

family. Uh the victims here uh Robin K

and her husband Thomas Duca. Uh Robin

was for the last 15 seasons the music

supervisor for American Idol. She worked

with uh the coaches. She worked with the

contestants in selecting the music that

they would uh perform u you know

throughout the uh their season uh on

American Idol. So, she was vital to the

success of that show. But, uh, what we

found out happened, this what right now

police believe is a double homicide. Um,

they went into the house yesterday into

Robin and Thomas’s house. Uh, they were

there on a welfare check because, uh,

someone had called police and said that

they hadn’t heard from them in several

days. Uh, when the police arrived there,

they saw a broken, uh, window. They saw

blood uh near the front entrance and

when they actually entered the house uh

found both Robin and Thomas uh deceased

in the home. Now what’s interesting is

that police had been out to this house

um last week. They went out there on

Thursday and what we’re told is that a

neighbor called police because they saw

someone that they believed to be armed

um enter their property. Um unclear how

they entered, if they climbed over a

fence or something, but a neighbor saw

something that was suspicious enough to

call police and police did respond. They

went out there, they checked the

property. Um they didn’t see any signs

on Thursday of a forced entry. Um and

that was the end of that. What’s unclear

is whether or not they actually made

contact uh with Robin and her husband

Thomas on Thursday. But um

that’s what I was wondering. We don’t

know if they were We don’t know if Robin

and her husband were home at the time of

the the the previous call on Thursday.

Right. Exactly. We don’t know. The one

thing the one clue though is that we’re

told they left the home on Thursday, the

police did, and didn’t on Thursday at

least see any sign of forced entry. When

they went back on Monday, there were

signs of forced entry. So, it may just

be a coincidence. Who knows? or if this

person that the neighbor saw is

ultimately the person responsible for

the double homicide. But um that’s

obviously what police are investigating

now. And we are told that they do have

surveillance videos um either at Robin

and Thomas’ house or in the area that

are aiding in this uh search for a

suspect. Is there anything else that

police are revealing about the

circumstances, you know, the the

evidence or what they sort of found

inside the home? Was there any

indication that this may have been some

kind of a a robbery, a break-in, a

burglary?

Uh, it doesn’t sound like they found um

we don’t haven’t heard yet of any things

being taken from the house. Um, but we

do know that both Robin and Thomas died

from gunshot wounds. Um, so it’s just,

you know, is this just a random thing?

Was this targeted? And if it was

targeted, you would think that the

intent was to, you know, was to a

burglary. Um but um you know, maybe that

they walked in in the middle of this

burglary. It’s just unclear at this

point. But um you know, we have been

obviously talking to people in the

American Idol world who are just all

shocked by this. And um you know, no one

that we’ve spoken to has said there’s

any reason to believe that Robin or her

husband would be targeted. um which is

at least the people that she worked with

feel like this had to be just a a tragic

uh random incident.

Yeah. And and given that she’s worked on

the show for so long, I mean, she’s

obviously, you know, sort of been been

involved, this is probably hitting home

for for a whole lot of people who’ve

been involved with that show over the

years. Yeah.

Yeah. And I and I would imagine some

contestants as well because like I said

uh in her role she was really integral

in um you know their success or you know

picking songs and helping them uh you

know sharpen it before they went on to

perform. So uh I’m sure there are a lot

of people who have gone through the

American Idol process who um certainly

know the name Robin K.

Yeah. All right. Just just an awful

crime and you know the cops are working

hard to try to try to figure this one
