Maricopa County Medical Examiner’s

Office website Moody who was found dead

along a trail in Scottsdale Arizona back

in May died of environmental heat

exposure and the manner of death was

determined to be accidental Hannah was

31 years old According to authorities

she had been reported missing by friends

on May 21st after which an initial

search took place before being called

off for the evening Just after noon the

following day her body was found near

the Gateway trail head of Scottsdale’s

McDow Sonoran Reserve Nearly a week

after the tragedy her mom Terry Moody

expressed her grief She told Arizona’s

family on May 28th “It’s numbing I feel

like it’s not real It’s a mystery to us

right now and we’re trying to piece it

all together because we don’t know of

any conditions that she had or anything

like that that would have caused

anything.” However Terry didn’t believe

there was foul play noting the brutal

Arizona weather She said “We’re all

assuming it was heat related There were

no signs of foul play.” She further

expressed her gratitude towards Hannah’s

hiking friends and community as they

joined together in the initial effort to

find her She added “The fact that there

were so many people who loved and cared

for her that took on that role We’re

really grateful for that Anytime she

could climb on top of something and look

out over the nature and see the sunrise

or the sunset those were her favorite
