Very sad news has come in from the world
of television and film. Actress Kelly
Mack, known for her role in The Walking
Dead, has passed away. She was just 33
years old. Kelly died on August 2nd,
surrounded by her loved ones in her
hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio. Her family
shared that she passed peacefully after
bravely fighting a rare and aggressive
form of cancer called central nervous
system glom. She had been diagnosed last
year in September 2024. Kelly was best
known for playing Addie in season 9 of
The Walking Dead. Fans will remember her
as one of the survivors in the group
known as The Highwayman. Her performance
was quiet, emotional, and powerful, and
it quickly made her a fan favorite. But
The Walking Dead was just one part of
her career. Kelly also appeared in
episodes of Chicago Med 911, and starred
in indie movies like Broadcast Signal
Intrusion. Earlier this year, she had
two major roles. one in a horror comedy
called Delicate Arch and another in the
film Universal, which came out in June
2025. Even after being diagnosed, Kelly
kept acting. Her family said she faced
her illness with great strength,
courage, and even humor. They described
her as a bright, fervent light whose
presence was unforgettable. They also
shared that in the days since her
passing, they’ve seen butterflies,
something they feel is a sign that her
spirit is still close. Kelly is survived
by her mother Kristen and her aunt Karen
who were both by her side when she
passed. They are planning a public
celebration of her life on August 16th
in Ohio. Friends, fans, and fellow
actors are expected to attend. After
news of her passing broke, many in the
entertainment world took to social media
to share tributes. People who worked
with her said she was kind, talented,
and deeply passionate about acting. One
person called her so special, while
others said she had a light in her that
made everything around her better. It’s
always heartbreaking when a young
talented life is taken too soon. Kelly
Mack may be gone, but her work and her
spirit will live on in the memories of
those who loved her and in the hearts of
everyone who watched her on screen. Rest
in peace, Kelly. Your light still
shines.
