Stephen Curry, the NBA superstar known for revolutionizing basketball with his unmatched shooting skills, is once again setting his sights on another passion—golf.

The four-time NBA champion and avid golfer has officially announced the highly anticipated return of his Underrated Golf European Tour, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing young golfers with an opportunity to compete on a global stage.

Following the success of its inaugural edition, the second annual tour will kick off at Foxhills Golf Club in England from May 28 to May 30, before making its way to the legendary Fairmont St. Andrews in Scotland this August.

With the support of United Airlines as the event’s presenting sponsor, Curry continues his mission to make golf a more inclusive and accessible sport, giving promising junior golfers the exposure and experience they need to take their game to the next level.

Curry, who has spent his entire NBA career with the Golden State Warriors, is widely regarded as one of the greatest shooters in basketball history.

However, beyond the hardwood, he has also cultivated a deep passion for golf, frequently playing in celebrity tournaments and even competing alongside professionals.

His love for the sport and desire to bring more diversity and opportunity to young athletes inspired him to launch Underrated Golf in 2022.

The initiative aims to create a pathway for aspiring golfers who may not have had access to the same resources and platforms as others in the sport.

The event, sponsored by United Airlines, returns after its debut in 2022 and provides an unparalleled platform for up-and-coming junior golfers

“I’m thrilled to see the Underrated Golf European Tour return for its second year and to partner with United Airlines as our presenting sponsor,” said Curry in his announcement.

“The goal of this tour is to offer incredible opportunities to emerging golfers, allowing them to compete and develop their skills in some of the most historic and beautiful locations in the world.

I’m excited to see the talent that will emerge from this tour and to continue to make golf a more inclusive and accessible sport.”

The impact of Underrated Golf has already been evident in its short existence.

The initiative has not only provided young athletes with the chance to compete at prestigious courses, but it has also fostered a sense of community among participants, inspiring the next generation of golfers to dream bigger.

This year’s tour is expected to attract an even larger pool of talent, with Curry and his team continuing to expand the tournament’s reach and visibility.

A key feature of the competition is the opportunity it provides for winners. As in the previous edition, the boy and girl winners from both the London and Scotland tournaments will earn an exclusive trip to the United States to compete in the prestigious Curry Cup, the fourth annual championship hosted by Curry himself.

This event offers young golfers a rare chance to showcase their abilities on an international level and gain valuable exposure in the competitive world of golf.

United Airlines has reaffirmed its commitment to the event, emphasizing its alignment with Curry’s vision for empowering young athletes.

“We’re proud to continue partnering with Stephen Curry in presenting the Underrated Golf European Tour,” said Jennifer Entenman, United’s Managing Director of Global Sponsorships.

“Stephen’s continued commitment to creating opportunities for aspiring athletes aligns perfectly with United’s brand ethos of ‘Good Leads the Way.’

With London being United’s largest market outside the United States, this partnership makes perfect sense for us. We look forward to continuing our support of Underrated Golf’s mission in the United Kingdom, Europe, and the United States.”

Curry’s deep connection with golf goes beyond this initiative. He has participated in numerous Pro-Am events, played alongside PGA stars, and even made headlines when he shot an impressive under-par round at a professional tournament.

His skill level on the course has drawn praise from seasoned golfers, with many noting that he could have pursued a golf career had he not dominated the NBA.

His commitment to golf and youth development is part of a broader pattern of philanthropy that has defined his career. Through his Eat. Learn. Play.

Foundation, Curry and his wife Ayesha have made significant contributions to communities by supporting education, combating childhood hunger, and promoting active lifestyles.

Underrated Golf is another extension of this vision, as Curry seeks to level the playing field in a sport traditionally dominated by certain demographics.

The return of the Underrated Golf European Tour comes at an exciting time for Curry, who remains a key player for the Golden State Warriors as they continue their pursuit of another NBA championship.

Balancing his basketball career, business ventures, and philanthropic efforts, Curry has proven that his influence extends far beyond the basketball court.

As anticipation builds for the upcoming tour, young golfers across Europe are preparing for the opportunity of a lifetime.

With historic courses, top-tier competition, and a mission rooted in diversity and inclusion, the Underrated Golf European Tour is set to leave a lasting impact on the sport. And with Stephen Curry leading the charge, the future of golf has never looked more promising.
