Iowa yo the police then came and took 88

children from this spot like a Bible

camp a Bible study something to

something to something man they think

they getting traffic to something man we

got to look at this yo look at the

report right here deputies raided a Iowa

church and removed 88 children

participating in Bible study camp as

part of a um sweeping human trafficking

investigation said on Monday the

youngsters are known to um are now in

protective custody of local agencies

after they have been taken from Shakana

Glory Camp and Kingdom Minister Ministry

and Rehab and Recreation deputies

execute exe executing the search

warrants removed the children over the

weekend and took them to nearby Wello

Methodist Church something like that man

to meet um children children protective

workers this the little spot is this the

spot what is this you can’t have 88

people in there this the this grounds of

it i’m looking at looking on New York

Post man hold on the Iowa um Department

of Health and Human Services Place the

children in temporary foster care so

what were they living there how is it

how you going to put somebody else kids

in protective custody well y’all don’t

know who these kids is said founded in

2018 was hosting a summer camp from June

8th um June 29th the families behind the

ministry that runs the camp and Columbus

Junction deny allegations so they deny

allegations what we try to do is take

care of adults and children who are

under the influence of drugs alcohol and

nicotine victor Brawl whose parents run

the ministry oh okay

the adults and children we take care of

them we provide food for them um the

children we separate from the adults we

separate the boys and the girls we take

care of them we provide them

so what are they trying to say the

children were

So we brought um them like $400 shoes

clothing and everything so we never

on the story we first broke to you this

afternoon after we learned that 88

children were taken into protective

custody from a religious camp this

religious group is located in rural

Laisea County Iowa just southeast of

Columbus Junction off of Q Avenue

tonight we learned how a child within

the camp called police with concerning

allegations and that’s when police and

local agencies intervened tv 6

investigates Matt Christensen was in

Liza County and has a breakdown of what

we know tonight

it all started with a message from a

15-year-old a camper here uh near

Wobblong Columbus Junction at a

religious camp who said there was

trouble happening that led to a raid in

the removal of 88 teenagers from this

property over the weekend now camp

leaders have not been arrested and they

say they’ve done nothing wrong the

police the police just showed us a

warrant and then uh they went and did

the investigation

and when you said did the investigation

did they interview people or what did

that look like yeah they’ve interviewed

all the children at uh they saw they

took all the children to a church in

Wapo I believe and they interviewed all

the children there they haven’t

interviewed us police haven’t released

many details other than to say that the

children were removed over the weekend

and that it was a multi- agency

operation now again it’s important to

note that there have been no arrests

made but it appears to be a human

trafficking investigation there are

still plenty of questions but I’ll

continue to report this out as new

details develop in Columbus Junction

a large-scale multi- agency operation

and here’s who we know assisted the Lawa

County Sheriff’s Office agencies include

the Iowa Department of Health and Human

Services Child Protection Services the

Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation

and the Columbus Junction Police

Department additionally help was

provided from the community after the

Loisea County Sheriff’s Office reached

out to the Wapo Methodist Church for a

temporary place for those 88 children to

stay once the children were at the

church they met with multiple child

protection workers before being reunited

with their parents or being placed in

temporary foster care the Wapo School

District food pantry multiple local

volunteers and a nearby pizza restaurant

all helped out salvat was the one who

donated the free pizza and they say once

they heard how many children were

involved they knew they had to help

pastor Tim came in and um wanted to just

get five pizzas and with the amount of

children there was more than they

expected so Luca just went ahead and

made nine or 10 of them and just didn’t

have the church pay for them at all we

just donated them so they could be fed

you want a cookie [ __ ] employees at the

pizza restaurant say that gestures like

these are what the Wapo Smalltown

community is all about helping out one

another in times of need oh and this is

a story we will continue to follow

closely over Yeah see I don’t I don’t

know man i don’t like they ain’t really

giving up too much information about

this so the So what I’m hearing the

legit call little 15-y old call say he

getting abused or something and they

went out there and took everybody from

there they they interviewed them two um

what they Cambodian i don’t know what

race they are man they Vietnamese or

they Asian or some sort i don’t know man

i ain’t know like who out there in Iowa

now we see it’s a big Asian community
