In July 2022, Jeff shared an emotional video capturing the moment Frank rang the bell to mark the end of his chemotherapy — a symbol of hope and victory.

Unfortunately, the cancer returned in early 2025, forcing Frank into indefinite treatments and casting a shadow over the family once again.

Throughout this ordeal, Jeff has used his platform to raise awareness about colorectal cancer.

In a heartfelt Facebook post, he urged everyone over 40 to get screened, hoping to save others from enduring the pain his family has faced.

Adding to the family’s health struggles, Jeff’s son Lorenzo experienced a frightening medical emergency in September 2019.

At just 10 years old, Lorenzo snapped his femur while jogging during gym class — a shocking injury that revealed a cyst on his bone had weakened it.

Lorenzo underwent surgery to have his leg reinforced with plates and screws, leaving Jeff to spend three restless nights by his son’s side in the hospital.

Thankfully, Lorenzo’s pathology results came back clear, and he made a full recovery.

Since then, father and son have bonded not only over food but also music, often playing together and even collaborating during quarantine when Jeff filmed The Kitchen from home.
