The Pioneer Woman’s Hollywood Twist: What Ree Drummond’s New Job Means for Fans
Ree Drummond, the down-to-earth cooking star and author who has captured hearts with her relatable ranch life and mouthwatering recipes, is embarking on an unexpected new adventure.
Known for her hit Food Network show, The Pioneer Woman, Ree has decided to step away from her usual cooking duties—temporarily, of course—and take on a role in front of the camera that’s unlike anything she’s done before.
That’s right: Ree Drummond is making her acting debut.
The announcement came as a surprise to fans when Ree shared the news on her Instagram on August 27th.
Her new venture?
Starring in Candy Coated Christmas, the Food Network’s first-ever scripted movie, set to premiere on Discovery+ in November.
Ree’s excitement about the project was palpable, even as she poked fun at herself for stepping into uncharted territory.
“I was nervous filming this movie because I’m not an actor,” Ree admitted, adding that being on a movie set in Utah was worlds apart from filming her cooking show in the comfort of her own kitchen.
For Ree, the experience was both thrilling and nerve-wracking.
In a blog post on her website, she candidly shared her fears about embarrassing herself, the production team, and even the entire southern half of the United States.
“I envisioned all sorts of worst-case scenarios: forgetting lines, being awkward, shutting down the entire production because I couldn’t get the inflection right on a single word, and/or tripping on something and falling,” she wrote.
But despite her apprehensions, Ree couldn’t resist the opportunity to try something new.
And while she’s not expecting any acting awards, she’s proud of one accomplishment: “I didn’t fall down while filming. Sometimes that’s the most I can hope for.”
The movie, Candy Coated Christmas, is a lighthearted holiday film that promises to bring all the cozy, feel-good vibes fans expect from a seasonal rom-com.
While Ree isn’t the leading lady, her role adds a special touch to the project, blending her love for food with her newfound venture into acting.
The film marks a significant milestone for the Food Network, as it’s their first scripted movie—a bold move that showcases their willingness to branch out into new forms of entertainment.
Ree’s decision to participate in the film doesn’t mean she’s leaving The Pioneer Woman behind.
Fans can breathe a sigh of relief knowing this is just a fun side project for her.
In fact, Ree’s ability to juggle multiple ventures while maintaining her signature humor and authenticity is part of what makes her so beloved.
Whether she’s whipping up a delicious recipe or delivering lines on a movie set, Ree approaches every challenge with the same blend of humility and enthusiasm.
The announcement has sparked excitement among fans, many of whom are eager to see Ree in a new light.
Her candid reflections on the experience have only added to the anticipation, as viewers can’t wait to see how she handles her acting debut.
For Ree, the project has been a highlight of her year—and perhaps even her life.
“To say this has been a highlight of my year, my life, is a huge understatement,” she wrote, describing the smiles and joy the experience brought her.
Stepping into the acting world is a bold move for someone who has built a career on cooking and storytelling.
But for Ree, it’s all part of her philosophy of embracing new opportunities and not letting fear hold her back.
“Fortunately, once a woman hits her 50s, the possibility of embarrassing herself really doesn’t keep her from doing anything in life,” she joked, proving once again why fans adore her.
As the premiere date for Candy Coated Christmas approaches, Ree’s fans are gearing up to support her latest endeavor.
The film’s release on Discovery+ is expected to draw in viewers who are eager to see how the Food Network star transitions from cooking to acting.
And while Ree herself might be modest about her performance, there’s no doubt that her presence will bring a unique charm to the movie.
This acting debut is just another example of Ree’s willingness to step outside her comfort zone and try new things.
From ranch life to cooking shows to holiday movies, she continues to inspire fans with her adventurous spirit and genuine personality.
Whether she’s making biscuits in her kitchen or delivering lines on a movie set, Ree Drummond proves that it’s never too late to embrace new opportunities and add a little sparkle to life.
As fans eagerly await the release of Candy Coated Christmas, one thing is certain: Ree’s journey into acting is yet another chapter in her ever-evolving story.
And while she may not be trading her apron for a Hollywood star on a permanent basis, this latest venture is a reminder that life is full of surprises—and Ree Drummond is ready to embrace them all.
