Samuel L. Jackson Drops Bombshell: Why Steve Harvey Can’t Handle Katt Williams
In a revelation that has sent shockwaves through the entertainment world, Samuel L. Jackson has reportedly shed light on the bitter feud between two comedy giants: Steve Harvey and Katt Williams.
While fans have long speculated about the tension between the two, Jackson’s alleged comments add a new layer of complexity to their rivalry, exposing what might be one of Hollywood’s most dramatic behind-the-scenes battles.
The animosity between Harvey and Williams didn’t begin recently, as many might believe.
According to Jackson, the origins of their feud date back to a comedy battle in Detroit in 2008.
Dubbed the “Championship of Stand-Up Comedy,” the event saw the two comedians face off in front of a crowd of 10,000.
By the end of the night, Williams had reportedly humiliated Harvey, delivering sharp personal jokes—including claims about Harvey’s infamous wig—that allegedly left the talk show host shaken.
For years, Steve Harvey was known for his signature high-top fade haircut, which many admired as the epitome of style.
However, Williams claimed that Harvey’s hair was actually a wig, and his relentless jokes on the subject reportedly dented Harvey’s confidence.
Soon after, Harvey ditched the wig for a clean-shaven look—perhaps a silent acknowledgment of Williams’ remarks.
According to Williams, this moment marked the beginning of Harvey’s retreat from stand-up comedy, as he could no longer face his audience with the same bravado.
Fast forward to 2017, during the “Def Comedy Jam 25” special, and the rivalry between Harvey and Williams was still palpable.
While Williams was seated in the audience, Dave Chappelle took a moment to praise the comedian for his contributions to the industry.
The spotlight shifted to Williams, and the room erupted in applause.
But not everyone was thrilled.
According to Jackson, Harvey was visibly uncomfortable as Chappelle’s words drew attention away from him.
Harvey reportedly attempted to redirect the focus by making comments like, “I’m nervous as hell right now,” but his efforts were met with disappointment from industry insiders, who believed the moment belonged to Williams.
Jackson’s alleged remarks also touched upon another comedian who appeared uneasy during the event: Cedric the Entertainer.
While Cedric’s actions were subtler than Harvey’s, eagle-eyed fans noted that he seemed nervous and eager for the spotlight to move away from Williams.
Cedric’s discomfort, Jackson purportedly explained, stemmed from his own history with Williams.
In a bombshell claim, Williams accused Cedric of stealing one of his best jokes—a closing bit he performed on BET’s “Comic View” in 1998.
According to Williams, Cedric later used the joke verbatim during his set in “The Original Kings of Comedy,” leading to a fallout that has lingered for decades.
The accusations don’t stop there.
Williams has also called out Harvey and Cedric for allegedly conspiring against the late Bernie Mac.
He claimed that the duo, along with comedian Ricky Smiley, tried to sabotage Mac’s career out of jealousy for his acting skills.
Williams alleged that Harvey, in particular, resented Mac’s success and even attempted to take over his role in “Ocean’s Eleven.”
These claims were later corroborated by DJ Ed Lover, a close friend of Bernie Mac, who recalled the late comedian sharing similar stories about Harvey’s underhanded tactics.
But why, exactly, are Steve Harvey and Cedric the Entertainer reportedly terrified of Katt Williams?
According to Jackson, it boils down to Williams’ undeniable talent and his ability to command attention wherever he goes.
Williams himself has hinted at this dynamic, stating that his comedy skills have always overshadowed his rivals.
Whether it’s his fearless approach to tackling industry injustices or his knack for delivering razor-sharp jokes, Williams has earned a reputation as a force to be reckoned with—a reputation that allegedly makes Harvey and Cedric nervous whenever he’s around.
Interestingly, Williams isn’t the only comedian to accuse Harvey of stealing jokes.
Mark Curry, best known for his role in “Hang in’ with Mr. Cooper,” has also publicly called out Harvey for using his material without permission.
Curry claimed that Harvey performed one of his favorite jokes—a Halloween bit—on “Little Big Shots,” a move that left Curry feeling betrayed.
While Harvey has denied the allegations, fans have pointed out similarities between the two routines, further fueling the controversy.
The drama doesn’t end with Harvey and Cedric.
Williams has also taken aim at Ricky Smiley, accusing him of lying about auditioning for the role of Money Mike in “Friday After Next.”
According to Williams, Smiley fabricated a story about being cast as Money Mike before the producers ultimately chose Williams for the part.
Williams claimed that Smiley’s attitude on set was arrogant, and he even added a clause to his contract stating that he wouldn’t work with Smiley again unless he wore a dress.
Smiley’s next role saw him donning a dress as the character Bernice Jenkins, leading fans to speculate about Williams’ influence in the comedy world.
The feud between Williams and Harvey, along with the alleged tensions involving Cedric and Smiley, paints a picture of a comedy industry rife with competition, jealousy, and betrayal.
Jackson’s purported comments highlight the lengths some comedians will go to maintain their status, even if it means stealing jokes or undermining their peers.
For outspoken comedians like Williams, these injustices are impossible to ignore, and his willingness to call out his rivals has made him both feared and respected.
As fans dissect Jackson’s words, one thing is clear: the rivalry between Steve Harvey and Katt Williams is far from over.
Whether it’s accusations of stolen jokes, claims of sabotaging careers, or battles for the spotlight, the drama surrounding these comedy legends continues to captivate audiences.
With Williams refusing to back down and Harvey maintaining his innocence, the feud remains one of the most fascinating—and bitter—conflicts in Hollywood.
