On a personal level, your own life could be drastically different.

Perhaps a loved one would still be alive — not deployed to a war zone.

Maybe your city wouldn’t be on constant alert for terror threats.

You might not have grown up in a post-9/11 classroom where lockdown drills and security officers became standard.
