Vin Diesel Seeks Reconciliation with ‘The Rock’ Dwayne Johnson

At the 2025 Golden Globe Awards, Vin Diesel made a subtle but significant gesture towards reconciling with his former Fast & Furious co-star, Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson.
Vin Diesel and Dwayne Johnson, both integral to the Fast & Furious franchise, have had a long-standing feud that dates back nearly a decade.
However, during the award ceremony, Diesel had the opportunity to honor Johnson on stage, presenting him with the Box Office Achievement Award.
Looking warmly towards his former co-star, Diesel said, “Hey, Dwayne,” to which Johnson responded with a smile and a nod, signaling a possible thawing of their relationship.
A Feud That Began in 2016

The rift between the two action stars began in 2016 while filming The Fate of the Furious (the eighth installment of the franchise).
At that time, Johnson posted a cryptic message on Instagram, calling some of his male co-stars “chicken sh*t” and “candy asses.
” Although he did not explicitly mention names, he later confirmed that his issues were with Vin Diesel.
Diesel, on the other hand, has consistently maintained a more diplomatic stance, praising Johnson’s contribution to the franchise and even publicly urging him to return for Fast X.
An Olive Branch That Backfired

In November 2021, Diesel made a public plea on Instagram, calling for Johnson’s return.
He wrote, “As you know, my children refer to you as Uncle Dwayne.
Not a holiday goes by where they don’t send you well wishes.
” He further added that he had promised the late Paul Walker that the franchise would have a tenth installment: “I say this out of love… but you must show up.
Do not let this franchise sit idle; you have an important role to play.”
However, Johnson saw this public message as manipulative.
In an interview with CNN in December 2021, he responded, “I didn’t like that he brought his children into the conversation, nor Paul Walker’s passing.
Leave them out of it.”
A Possible Truce?

Despite the tension, their brief exchange at the 2025 Golden Globes suggests a potential reconciliation.
While no official statements have been made regarding a renewed collaboration, fans are hopeful that the two action legends might set aside their differences and reunite for future projects.
Only time will tell whether this moment was just a cordial interaction or a genuine step towards mending their fractured relationship.
