Hollywood superstar Tom Cruise is no stranger to pushing the limits of action filmmaking. At 62, he continues to perform his own daring stunts, and his latest revelation proves just how far he’s willing to go.

During the filming of Mission: Impossible 8 – Dead Reckoning Part Two, Cruise passed out mid-air due to oxygen deprivation while executing an extreme aerial stunt.

“I Lost Consciousness Mid-Flight”

In a recent interview, Cruise shared details about the terrifying moment he blacked out while performing a high-speed maneuver outside an aircraft.

“When you’re hanging outside a plane moving at over 120 to 130 mph, you’re simply not getting enough oxygen,” Cruise explained. “I had to train myself to control my breathing. But there were times when I passed out and couldn’t make it back into the cockpit.”

This shocking admission underscores the insane level of risk and commitment that Cruise brings to his roles. Unlike most actors who rely on stunt doubles, he continues to perform gravity-defying sequences that push his endurance to the edge.

Christopher McQuarrie: “This Film Will Melt Your Brain”

Director Christopher McQuarrie, who has worked closely with Cruise on several Mission: Impossible installments, has called this latest film “even crazier than the previous ones.”

While remaining tight-lipped about specific stunt details, McQuarrie admitted that one particular scene made him physically sick from stress.

“There are moments in this movie that will make your brain feel like it’s melting,” he teased.

That statement might sound exaggerated, but McQuarrie insists it’s not. He recalled that during a private test screening in January, one audience member nearly suffered a heart attack from the sheer tension of a high-risk sequence.

Originally slated for a 2022 release, Mission: Impossible 8 – Dead Reckoning Part Two was delayed due to COVID-19 disruptions and the SAG-AFTRA strikes. Now, after years of anticipation, the film is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025.

Continuing the epic journey of IMF agent Ethan Hunt, the film promises to be one of the most intense action spectacles ever put to screen.

With Cruise’s relentless dedication to practical stunts, fans can expect a thrill ride unlike anything they’ve seen before. The only question is: Will audiences be able to handle the intensity?
