Ryan Reynolds Hoping Deadpool 3 Would be the “Most Traumatic Thing” For His 7-Year-Old Girl is a Joke That Aged Like Milk
Just a few months ago, the internet was glowing with excitement over Deadpool & Wolverine.
Fans were celebrating every teaser, every poster, every tiny detail.
But fast forward to now, and the conversation regarding the movie has taken a sharp turn.
Thanks to all the It Ends With Us drama, every aspect of the movie is being scrutinized under a magnifying glass.
The chatter around Nice Pool has now faded into the background.
Instead, a far more unsettling topic has grabbed everyone’s attention, something that was right there in plain sight but largely ignored until now: the involvement of Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively’s daughter, Inez, in the movie.
Deadpool & Wolverine may be packed with R-rated chaos, but behind the scenes, it was a full-blown family affair for Ryan Reynolds.
His wife, Blake Lively, made an appearance as Ladypool.
Even more surprising, three of their four children had cameos in the film, including their youngest child, Olin, who took on the role of Babypool, eldest daughter, James as a screaming mutant, and their middle daughter, Inez, as Kidpool.
Initially, this detail flew under the radar for most audiences, but once fans caught on, many found it amusing.
However, the tide has since turned.
The shift in public perception comes amid Reynolds and Lively’s ongoing legal drama involving director and actor Justin Baldoni, a case that has sparked widespread scrutiny of the couple.
As more theories and allegations surface, aspects of Deadpool & Wolverine that were once seen as fun Easter eggs are now being reexamined with a more critical eye, including Inez’s Kidpool scene.
In the film, Kidpool, played by the seven-year-old, delivers a particularly explicit line:
Hey, when I want your opinion, I’ll take Wolverine’s d— out of your mouth.
While Deadpool movies are known for their crude humor, the revelation that a child actor, especially the lead star’s own daughter, had to record the line that too “70 to 500 times” during rehearsals has raised eyebrows.
Director Shawn Levy shared this behind-the-scenes detail, which, instead of adding to the film’s comedic lore, has only fueled concerns.
Many fans who once praised Reynolds and Lively’s playful parenting now find the situation unsettling.
During the film’s official commentary track, Ryan Reynolds made things worse by jokingly dubbing himself “father of the year” while revealing a rather awkward detail: that his daughter Inez didn’t exactly jump at the chance to deliver “that” line.
In fact, she was initially uncomfortable with the dialogue and wasn’t keen on saying it.
But that changed when Reynolds casually mentioned the possibility of casting someone else.
He explained:
Guiltily, that is my daughter Inez. And, I am father of the year over here for allowing her to say such language, which, to her credit, she really didn’t want to say. Then she said, ‘I want to say it now’ when I started looking at other people to play.
At the New York premiere of Deadpool & Wolverine, Ryan Reynolds made sure to give his family a special shout-out.
However, his comments about his kids’ involvement in the film raised a few eyebrows once again.
Reynolds jokingly admitted that he hoped working on and watching the movie would be “the most traumatic experience” of their lives, considering they’re still too young to even watch the film, let alone deliver explicit lines in it.
He said:
I want to start by saying thank you to my wife Blake, who is here, I want to thank my kids James, Inez, Betty, Olin, who are here: I hope that, if I’m lucky, this moment will be the most traumatic thing — that is, the contents of this movie — that happens in your wondrous life.
Things were already looking pretty bad after the whole Nice Pool drama, where fans initially speculated (and later had it confirmed by Reynolds) that it was a jab at Baldoni.
Things have only gotten further downhill since then.
The backlash surrounding Reynolds’ comments reflects a growing concern about child actors in Hollywood, particularly in projects that push the boundaries of acceptable content.
The notion that a child should deliver such explicit lines—even in a comedic context—raises questions about the responsibilities of parents and filmmakers.
As the scrutiny intensifies, fans are left to wonder how much is too much when it comes to involving children in adult-themed projects.
The situation also highlights the delicate balance between creative expression and parental responsibility, especially in an industry where the lines can often blur.
In conclusion, what was once a lighthearted family affair has taken a darker turn, with Ryan Reynolds’ comments now viewed as tone-deaf and inappropriate.
As the conversation continues to evolve, it remains to be seen how this will impact not only Deadpool & Wolverine but also the broader dialogue about child actors in the film industry.
