Zara Larsson Calls Out Fans for Pitting Her Against Tate McRae as They Finish Touring Together: ‘It’s Been Strange’

Zara Larsson is not here for fans trying to pit her against Tate McRae.

On Sunday, Sept. 28, the “Midnight Sun” shared a carousel on Instagram featuring photos and videos from her time as the opening act on the North American leg of McRae’s Miss Possessive Tour.

Larsson, 27, wrote “It’s a wrap on Miss Possessive tour!” before praising McRae, 22, for inviting her along for the ride.

“@tatemcrae thank you from the bottom of my heart for sharing your stage with me and my girls every night.

I can’t explain how much I’ve appreciated the opportunity to give the people a little taste of a Zara set,” she wrote.

Larsson then took a moment to address certain fans who’ve attempted to pit her against the “Exes” singer.

“I’m speechless at the amount of praise I’ve been getting over these past few weeks from your wonderful fans and online,” she continued.

“With that being said, it’s been strange seeing some people putting us against each other when we’re just two pop girls who love and support each other back stage!”.

The pop star then called McRae “insanely talented” and added:

“the dancers, band, crew, team, drivers, and tech have been a joy to be around and I always feel like that says a lot about how a person works.

You set the bar.

You set the standard.

You are a super star.”.

“Just know, I will always have your back!

Larsson wrapped up her time on McRae’s tour with a performance at the Kia Forum in Inglewood, Calif., on Saturday, Sept. 27.

In August, Larsson praised McRae on iHeartRadio Canada, where she revealed that although the headliner was often too busy to “hang out,” Larsson had nothing but respect and admiration for her.

“She’s so busy, like, it’s such a big machine, like, she is a superstar, touring arenas all over the world,” she said.

However, Larsson shared that she watched McRae’s sound checks, before calling the star “inspiring” and “hardworking.”.

Larsson added, “Sadly, we haven’t had the time to, like, hang out because she’s always doing something, or like, I’m doing something, but I just love to be a part of that tour.”.
