It will reportedly focus on four women: a Virginia socialite, her daughter, a formerly enslaved Black woman, and a courtesan, all of whom played a crucial role as key espionage agents for the Union during the Civil War.

The show’s ensemble cast is led by Mary-Louise Parker, Amethyst Davis, Daisy Head, Paul Anderson, and Ben Vereen. According to IMDb, Oscar-winning filmmaker Roland Joffe is directing the show, with a screenplay by Leslie Greif, Darrell Fetty, and John Sayles.

The series eventually made its debut as the opening night selection of the Monte‑Carlo Television Festival in June 2024, as per Variety.
