Jon Voight Feels Betrayed by His Own Daughter Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie’s comments on personal freedoms have reignited her feud with father Jon Voight, deepening their clash over politics and values.

According to reports, actor/Special Ambassador to Hollywood Jon Voight is not on good terms with his daughter, Angelina Jolie, and her recent comments might have something to do with that.

Jolie and Vought have had tumultuous relationships in the past, thanks to their differences of opinion about politics.

While Voight is a MAGA supporter, everyone knows that Jolie is not.

A few days ago, amidst the controversial suspension of Jimmy Kimmel Live, Jolie commented about the current state of America, stating, “Anything anywhere that divides or limits personal expressions and freedoms from anyone, I think, is very dangerous.

These are such serious times that we have to be careful not to say things casually.”.

She added that we are living in “very heavy times.”

Now, as per a report by Radar Online, her father is not pleased with her comments.

An insider stated that her comments amount to an “all-out-war” on Voight’s MAGA values.

They said,

Jon feels Angelina has launched all-out war on everything he stands for politically.

He thinks her comments weren’t just about Trump – they were a direct challenge to him and his role in MAGA Hollywood.

While Jolie has always “leaned left” and spoken up for the sake of refugees, her father feels like she is “undermining his values“.

He allegedly has told his friends that Jolie “is embarrassing him on the global stage by siding with what he calls ‘radical liberals.’ Their fragile relationship has been blown apart again.”.

The insider pointed out how Jolie’s actions have come across as betrayal to her father: “She believes personal freedoms are under attack in America.

To her, this is about more than Hollywood – it’s about protecting civil liberties.

But Jon sees it as a betrayal.”.

As said before, Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight may not have the best father-daughter relationship due to their clashing beliefs.

The two have spoken up multiple times about each other and their relationship through the years.

Back in 2002, Jolie said of her father to USA Today: “If we weren’t related, we’d be friends.

I like who he is.” However, just next year, she told Vogue that she wasn’t on great terms with her father.

In her words, “My father wouldn’t be a good person to interview.

God only knows what he’ll say.

We don’t really speak that much anymore” (via US Weekly).

Fast forward to February 2010, Voight accompanied Jolie, Brad Pitt, and their children on a much-needed vacation.

He told US Weekly, “It’s nice to have something that’s positive.

It’s a very beautiful trip.

A lot of fun…I love the possibility of spending time with the family.

It’s a very beautiful thing.” Voight was also not present at Pitt and Jolie’s wedding in 2014.

While things seemed alright for a bit, Voight confirmed their reconciliation with his daughter to Variety.

However, while doing so, he may have said things that didn’t sit right with Jolie.

He said,

She has been exposed to propaganda.

She’s been influenced by antisemitic people.

Angie has a connection to the U.N., and she’s enjoyed speaking out for refugees.

But these people are not refugees.

A source close to Jolie said that while she won’t speak about Voight in public, she wishes him well.

Things Went Wrong Between Angelina Jolie and Jon Voight After Reconciliation

Last year in August, Voight spoke of his daughter’s divorce in an interview with Fox News, stating that Jolie and Pitt need to sort their differences out and “find a way to make peace.”

He added, “You know, I think the kids need some stability.

I love the kids, and I love my daughter.

And I want Brad to step up to do, you know, what he has to do.

End this nonsense.“.

Needless to say, his words did not sit right with Jolie. A source told In Touch Weekly, “To say they’re not on good terms is an understatement.

Angelina was already upset about Jon’s claims she’s been brain-washed by the UN, but he’s made things far worse by giving his two cents on her situation with Brad and their kids.“

While Jolie has never agreed with her father’s political views, she “draws the line when he talks about her kids as though she has some inside scoop“, proving that he remains the “same self-centered person he’s always been.“

It looks like Jolie and Voight are fighting the same fight for years, and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon.
