Actor Johnny Depp had been ostracized from Hollywood following his scandalous divorce and domestic abuse allegations from ex-wife Amber Heard.

A highly publicized trial revealed that the accusations adversely affected his career, with even the Pirates of the Caribbean and Fantastic Beasts franchises reportedly shunning him.

While he has featured in some international films and has also turned director, Depp is set to make his Hollywood return after the trial with Marc Webb’s Day Drinker.

The film recently cast Outer Banks star Madelyn Cline in an undisclosed role.

Fans seem to be experiencing deja vu with the casting and cautioned Depp from falling for a younger co-star again.

Johnny Depp is all set to make his comeback to Hollywood after being ostracized for years with Day Drinker.

Directed by The Amazing Spider-Man’s Marc Webb will be helming the project, which is set to be an action thriller set on a boat.

Depp is reportedly playing a bartender who comes across a day drinker and gets involved in a criminal ring.

The film also stars Depp’s Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides co-star Penélope Cruz and now the film has reportedly cast Madelyn Cline in a pivotal role (via Deadline).

Cline got her breakthrough with the Netflix series Outer Banks and also featured in Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery.

Depp is set to produce the film through his IN.2 production house.

He previously directed the film Modi, which is based on the artist Amedeo Modigliani, and he also produced it through his company.

Cline will also be seen in the upcoming I Know What You Did Last Summer reboot and Amazon’s adaptation of The Map That Leads To You.

Fans caution Johnny Depp against repeating Amber Heard’s situation

Johnny Depp has been out of the big screen in Hollywood for quite some time after the infamous trial with ex-wife Amber Heard.

The actor was accused of domestic abuse by Heard, who he met on the sets of The Rum Diary and got married to in 2015.

The couple had a twenty-three year age gap between them and it was a subject of controversy.

Depp was unofficially blacklisted from Hollywood following the allegations and even lost out on the role of Gillert Grindelwald in the Fantastic Beasts franchise.

He was last seen in the French film Jeanne du Barry and the 2020 biopic Minamata.

His upcoming Day Drinker would be a return to form for the actor.

However, the casting of Madelyn Cline has raised a few red flags for fans as they caution Depp against repeating the Amber Heard situation by falling for a younger starlet.

The age gap is even significantly wider with Cline and fans are hoping Depp does not fumble again.

While it is not confirmed what role Cline will play in the film, and Penélope Cruz is also set to star in Day Drinker, fans are still proceeding with caution.
