Jennifer Aniston’s Relationship With Gwyneth Paltrow Is Nothing Like Her Bond With Angelina Jolie

Gwyneth Paltrow and Jennifer Aniston keep their bond alive with gossip, advice, and a shared past that includes one very famous ex.

Following her divorce from Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston found herself a friend and gossip partner – Gwyneth Paltrow. Years later, the actress has confirmed that the two still come together from time to time, gossiping about their mutual ex-lover. On the contrary, Aniston’s bond with Angelina Jolie is basically non-existent.

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, Aniston opened up about her relationship with close friend Gwyneth Paltrow, whom she met years ago when David Schwimmer was filming ‘The Pallbearer’ (1996) with her.

It’s natural to wonder whether the two successful actresses talk about Pitt when they get together. When Aniston was asked this question by Vanity Fair, she unapologetically replied, “Oh, of course. How can we not? We’re girls!” How very Rachel Green of her!

However, she also added that their friendship and conversations aren’t limited to their love lives. Aniston stated, “We’re always swapping advice—’What are you doing for this? What are you doing for that? Do you have a new doctor for that?’”

Hey, a good friendship means you can talk about everything under the sun, and Paltrow and Aniston do just that!

Before Aniston and Pitt became a power couple in Hollywood, he was dating Paltrow, whom he met on the set of one of his best films to date, ‘Se7en‘, in 1994. They soon began their romantic relationship, and he even stood up to Harvey Weinstein for her.

In December 1996, Pitt finally proposed to Paltrow, ready to make a life with the ‘Iron Man’ actress. She recalled the proposal stating, “One night we were on the balcony of this house we were renting in this little town in Argentina. I wish I remembered exactly what he said, but he proposed. It was fantastic” (via InStyle). Paltrow was 24 at the time.

Talking to Vanity Fair, Aniston revealed that she was actually present at the former couple’s engagement party. She said, “Ironically, I went to her and Brad’s engagement party.”

The engagement never turned into a wedding, as they broke up just a few months later. While she told Howard Stern that she “was a kid” and “wasn’t ready” for such a commitment, reports have claimed that the actress believed Pitt wasn’t sophisticated enough for her.

Aniston’s divorce from Pitt and his subsequent relationship with Jolie is something the ‘FRIENDS‘ actress can’t seem to escape, with everyone talking about it to this day.

In conversation with Vanity Fair, she addressed that era of her life where the “love triangle” between the three was a hot topic of discussion amongst the tabloids.

She stated,

It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It was such juicy reading for people. If they didn’t have their soap operas, they had their tabloids. It’s a shame that it had to happen, but it happened. And boy did I take it personally.

However, if there is one thing Aniston knows, it’s how to keep her head held high and move forward with class. Talking about her survival approach during that rough period, she said, “Just pick yourself up by the bootstraps and keep on walking, girl.”

Honestly, that’s solid advice for anyone dealing with a messy breakup or a hard time in their life. At least, through it all, Aniston found herself a friend she can be completely candid with.
