Despite the age gap, the two seem to be basking in each other’s love—but it feels like someone closer to the 78-year-old actress’ own age is now posing a problem: Kevin Costner. According to sources, Costner was reportedly spotted hitting on the Believe singer recently, and her young boytoy, also known as AE Edwards, is apparently threatened by the 70-year-old multi-talented actor.

2024 hadn’t been all that kind of a year for Costner, as not only did he earn a lot of negative attention for walking out of his hit series Yellowstone for his own Western saga (Horizon, which turned out to be a brutal failure), but his wife of almost two decades, Christine Baumgartner also ended up parting ways with him—though reports claim she now has her own set of sufferings.

But things finally seem to be looking somewhat better for The Bodyguard star as he was recently spotted with someone else that he seems to be interested in: the Goddess of Pop, Cher. According to the latest reports from insiders, Kevin Costner, 70, appeared to be in complete awe of the After All singer, 78, performing in a mostly sheer black getup at SNL: The Homecoming Concert.

Per the beans spilled by an insider to RadarOnline.com, “It was obvious that Kevin was completely bowled over by her performance.” If that wasn’t enough, the Dances with Wolves actor even managed to snag a seat next to her at the February 14 event before reportedly continuing to fawn all over her, with the source adding:

He was clearly tickled as a schoolboy to be sitting so close to her, and Cher was totally lapping it up and flirting back.

So Costner has found a new romance after being dumped by his wife of 18 years? Well, it seems like it. But this reported romance may not last long, if indeed true, because the If I Could Turn Back Time singer is already dating music executive Alexander Edwards, 39, and he was not thrilled about it all.

On the one hand, while Costner sparked romance rumors with the legendary Goddess of Pop after reportedly flirting with her, on the other hand, this turn of events didn’t sit well with the pop icon’s young boytoy boyfriend of two and a half years Edwards, who was sitting on her other side.

According to further reports from the insider, Edwards appears to have felt threatened by this turn of events, especially because of the actor’s star power. The source claimed:

A.E. was very upset – he felt emasculated in the presence of a stud like Costner. It’s not like he can compete with Kevin, who’s the biggest star of his generation. Now that he’s seen how flirty Cher was with Kevin, A.E. worries she’s just keeping him around for arm candy while looking for more action.

At the same time, other sources feel like Edwards really had it coming as he had been resisting her appeals to put a ring on it, and has even been reported to flirt with other ladies behind her back. As the source added: “Kevin’s on the market and the make, and Cher’s going to snap him up whether A.E. likes it or not.” Well, only time can tell who the singer actually ends up choosing.
