Gordon Ramsay is FINALLY set for new neighbours as £1.85m beach house next to his Cornish holiday home receives an offer… after he angered locals by moving to the coast in lockdown
Gordon Ramsay is finally set for new neighbours as the £1.85 million home alongside his second house in Cornwall has received an offer.
The lavish property – named Tregye – was put on the market in April 2019, and is in the heart of the seaside village of Rock in Cornwall and boasts four bedrooms.
Earlier this year Gordon angered locals by relocating his entire family to their £4 million second house on the Cornish coast during the COVID-19 pandemic.
On the market: Gordon Ramsay is finally set for new neighbours as the £1.85 million home alongside his second house in Cornwall has received an offer.
According to the home’s listing, the property neighbouring Gordon’s house is currently Under Offer, over a year after being placed on the market.
The home is visible along the Camel Estuary coastline in the enclave known as ‘Kensington-On-Sea’ because of wealthy interlopers with large holiday homes in the area.
Tregye was built to replace an older, rundown property and sits behind another large beachfront house. It was completed in early 2016 with high-spec modern fixtures and fittings with green technology including an air-source heat pump.
Drama: The chef faced backlash earlier this year for relocating his family to their second home in Cornwall in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Grand: A private stone patio with low lying wall runs the width of the property which give direct access on to the steps that lead down to the beach.
Paradise: Tregye was built to replace an older, rundown property and sits behind another large beachfront house.
The four-bedroom house has gone on the market with estate agents John Bray, who describe it is ‘the perfect holiday home.’
It boasts 2,081 sq ft of accommodation with an entrance hall, open plan kitchen/lounge/diner, garage, utility room, four bedrooms and three bathrooms.
Tregye has been run as a holiday let through John Bray Cornish Holidays since its completion and the house was already fully booked for July and August last year, with rent costing up to £3,535 a week.

Gorgeous: The home boasts stunning views of the beach just minutes away, and was elegantly furnished before being put on the market.
Gordon bought the 1920s home next door in 2015 for £4.4m and at the time it was the second most expensive sale ever recorded in Cornwall, and sparked outrage when locals learned he was planning to demolish the property.
After an eight-month planning battle in 2016, the chef was given permission to knock down the old house and replace it with his mega holiday home and a second smaller property, the Garden House.
Neighbours were up in arms when they found out he was going to demolish the ‘historically impressive’ 1920s Arts and Crafts-style home and build a modernist villa with white walls and a zinc façade, comprising a gym, pool, cellar and a guest annexe.
Cosy: The relaxed property boasts four bedrooms of varying sizes, offering plenty of space for those on the hunt for a coastal getaway.
Controversy: Gordon angered locals after relocating to his second home in Cornwall during the coronavirus crisis despite the Government urging Britons not to travel.
Far from social distancing: Last month, the star was spotted a number of times taking long excursions when outings were still limited to an hour a day including a beachside stroll with his entire family.
The new house, has two kitchens, a swimming pool, a wine cellar and four en suite bathrooms, around 100 yards from the beach.
Ramsay was also given the green light to construct a three-bedroom grass-covered boathouse just a stone’s throw from water at high tide.

The star – who has since returned to London – was spotted a number of times taking long excursions when outings were still limited to an hour a day including a beachside stroll with his entire family.
The fiery chef was accompanied by wife Tana, 45, and three of their five children – Jack, 20, Matilda, 18, and Oscar – during a brisk walk across the sand.
Far away: Sources indicated that Gordon was seen in Rock, Fowey, Port Isaac and Newquay – some distance from his £4 million home in Trebetherick.
Rules: Whilst the UK was in heavy lockdown to slow the spread of COVID-19, the government advice is to ‘stay local and use open spaces near to your home where possible’.
The Hell’s Kitchen star also landed in hot water with the local coastguard, who are said to have issued an official warning to him over his apparent flouting of lockdown guidelines.

The warning is particularly troubling because Ramsay is the face of a ‘Stayhome’ initiative on YouTube which he has been plugging on his ten-minute cookery shows, filmed in ‘isolation’ in his Cornwall kitchen.
Appearing from home in his ‘Stay at Home’ YouTube campaign in April, Ramsay urged fans to remain behind closed doors and try some of his recipes until current restrictions are lifted.
Moreover, the TV personality hit yet another stumbling block when he was forced deny ‘almost causing an accident’ after a resident accused him of jumping a red light while on a 26.2-mile bike ride.
Strict: While people with second homes are not allowed to travel back and forth, choosing one home and sitting out the lockdown in it was not against official advice.
What a view! The home was perfectly nestled overlooking the Cornish beaches, surrounded by plenty of other lavish homes.
In a picture taken by the irate local and obtained by The Sun, he was seen wearing the same cycling gear he wore in a post shared with Instagram followers earlier that day.

A friend of the family told MailOnline: ‘The family see Cornwall as their family home when the kids are back from uni and Gordon back from filming around the world it’s where they spend all their family time together.
‘They’ve been spending time there for 10 years and Jack actually lives in the house there full time too. Most of their neighbours are so welcoming and they love being part of the community.
‘They’ve been following the government advice along with the rest of the country since they arrived on March 20th and the campaign against them is hurtful and unnecessary at a time when we should all be coming together and supporting each other.’
Pretty: The four-bedroom new build property overlooks Porthilly Cove and over the Camel Estuar.
