Brad Pitt’s F1 Zooms Past Superman on Streaming After Tight Box-Office Run

Brad Pitt’s F1, overtaking James Gunn’s Superman in streaming also helped reignite his age-old rivalry with Tom Cruise’s The Final Reckoning.

F1 Superman

Brad Pitt’s racing flick, F1, zooms past James Gunn’s Superman on streaming after the two competed in a very tight box office run.

Despite both movies being PG-13 and Superman being comparatively more famous than F1, it seems that audiences have finally chosen their winner.

According to ITopChart, Joseph Kosinski led F1 is currently the most-streamed movie till now.

Of course, the movie hasn’t been available for subscription-based streaming.

However, F1 and Superman are available for digital purchase on major streaming platforms.

Platforms like Prime Video and Apple TV are offering these movies for digital purchase, and people seem to have chosen F1 rather than Superman.

How Did Brad Pitt’s F1 Outdo Superman?

It all comes down to one thing, really: repetition. Fans and audiences are constantly on the lookout for something new and unique, like a horror movie from a dog’s perspective.

Superman became a pretty big IP because it had already been done and redone so many times that fans hadn’t really grown attached to a particular Superman (except Henry Cavill during the DCEU).

On the other hand, there are very few racing movies and fewer still that are good. Brad Pitt and Joseph Kosinski’s F1 provided a new experience to the audience, especially considering the realism of this movie. On the other hand, Superman fulfilled the expectations of fans but wasn’t as groundbreaking as F1.

Not just Superman, but Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning also suffered from the same curse of getting too big to do something new. Brad Pitt swooped in with F1 and reignited Hollywood’s biggest rivalry with Tom Cruise.

Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning was Tom Cruise’s last outing as Ethan Hunt.

Despite the film being a homage to Tom Cruise’s incredible legacy and his time spent as Ethan Hunt, it still failed to beat Pitt’s F1 and David Corenswet’s Superman.

The reason for The Final Reckoning‘s failure might have to do with the fact that, much like Superman, Tom Cruise’s franchise also suffered because of fatigue from watching similar things and Cruise’s stunts.

On the other hand, F1 offered a fresh take and depicted some things that people hadn’t really seen on the big screen before (except F1 screenings).

Well, with Brad Pitt outwinning Tom Cruise’s Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, it seems that the veteran star has reignited his famous rivalry with Tom Cruise.

Only time can tell whether this rivalry will bring billions of dollars to the global box office collections or whether this rivalry can lead to a project wherein they work together.
