For over fifty years, constitutional attorney Daniel Shein has been at the forefront of investigating some of the most controversial and shadowy episodes in American history. His work, spanning from Watergate to the JFK assassination, reveals a tangled web of covert operations, secret alliances, and cover-ups that challenge the official narratives we have long accepted. Recently, Shein has turned his attention to the newly released JFK documents, aiming to uncover fresh evidence that might finally illuminate the truth behind President John F. Kennedy’s assassination.
Shein began his inquiry by painstakingly reviewing the first hundred or so documents from the voluminous archive. These files, coded and unmarked, initially offered little clarity but soon revealed intriguing details. Among these were surprising accounts of surveillance activities, including wiretapping of the Russian Embassy in Mexico City, and investigations into individuals whose loyalties appeared questionable. While these initial findings did not produce groundbreaking revelations, Shein believes that integrating artificial intelligence to analyze the entire dataset will help identify key dates, names, and events that align with known facts about the assassination.

Central to Shein’s perspective is his long-held conviction that JFK was the victim of a conspiracy orchestrated by elements within the CIA. His assertion is not based solely on the documents but also on extensive firsthand interviews with key figures involved in covert operations during that era. Among those he interviewed was Santos Trafficante, a notorious Mafia boss who allegedly assembled the team responsible for both attempts on Fidel Castro and the assassination of President Kennedy.
Trafficante’s testimony, as recounted by Shein, paints a chilling picture of collusion between the CIA and organized crime. According to Shein, the assassination team was initially formed to eliminate Castro at the behest of Richard Nixon, who, during his 1960 presidential campaign, collaborated with billionaire Howard Hughes to commission a covert operation. Hughes, in turn, engaged mob figures like Johnny Roselli to carry out the dirty work. This same team, Shein contends, later turned its lethal focus on JFK.

The role of Allen Dulles, the former CIA Director dismissed by Kennedy after the Bay of Pigs fiasco, emerges as particularly sinister. Though officially retired, Dulles maintained significant influence within the agency and is implicated by Shein as the mastermind behind the assassination plot. Dulles allegedly viewed Kennedy’s secret back-channel negotiations with Nikita Khrushchev to dismantle nuclear arsenals as a betrayal and a threat to American strategic interests. This clandestine diplomacy, unknown to much of the CIA, was enough to prompt Dulles and his allies to act decisively.
Lee Harvey Oswald, the officially designated assassin, is portrayed by Shein not as a lone gunman but as a manipulated pawn in a much larger scheme. Recruited by right-wing operatives during his Marine Corps service, Oswald was intended to fire a warning shot that would be used to frame Cuba and the Soviet Union, justifying an invasion. However, the actual killing was carried out by the Mafia-linked assassination team, with Oswald’s role being a carefully orchestrated distraction.
The layers of secrecy and danger surrounding this conspiracy are underscored by the fates of those who sought to expose it. Witnesses and investigators alike faced intimidation and even death. Subpoenas issued to key Mafia figures such as Johnny Roselli and Sam Giancana were followed by their swift murders, silencing vital testimony. Even congressional investigators were not immune, with some being targeted or pressured to abandon their inquiries.

Despite the overwhelming evidence and testimonies, official investigations like the House Select Committee on Assassinations failed to fully probe these leads, likely due to the immense political pressure and the influence of what Shein calls the “Deep State.” This shadowy network, centered around the CIA and its covert operations, wields power beyond democratic oversight and has historically suppressed inconvenient truths to maintain its grip on authority.
Shein draws parallels between this Deep State and ongoing issues in American politics, including the controversial claims made by former President Donald Trump. While Trump’s references to a Deep State have often been dismissed or ridiculed, Shein affirms its existence as a real and dangerous force. Originating with the National Security Act of 1947, this covert apparatus has engaged in illegal activities ranging from drug trafficking to political assassinations, all while operating above the law and beyond public scrutiny.
The implications of Shein’s revelations extend beyond the JFK assassination. They touch on the very nature of American democracy and the extent to which elected leaders can genuinely govern without interference from entrenched secret powers. The CIA’s involvement in not only political assassinations but also the suppression of UFO-related information further complicates the picture, suggesting a broader pattern of deception and control.
Kennedy’s interest in UFOs and his plans for a joint Soviet-American space program are presented as additional motives for his elimination. His demand for a briefing on classified UFO information in June 1963 reportedly triggered alarm within the CIA, particularly with Dulles, who saw this as another threat to the established order. This, combined with Kennedy’s nuclear disarmament efforts, sealed his fate in the eyes of those determined to maintain the status quo.
Looking ahead, Shein remains cautiously optimistic that the truth can still emerge. He points to surviving witnesses and ongoing investigations as potential sources of new insights. However, he acknowledges the formidable obstacles posed by political intimidation, media complicity, and the sheer power of the Deep State. Mobilizing public awareness and pressure is, in his view, essential to breaking the silence and demanding accountability.
In this complex and shadowy saga, the JFK assassination remains a symbol of the struggle between transparency and secrecy, democracy and covert power. As new documents continue to surface and fresh analyses are conducted, the hope persists that the full story will one day be told, restoring justice and clarity to a dark chapter in American history.
