1 Week Before His Death, Randy Walker Broke Silence About Tupac

One week before his tragic death, Randy “Stretch” Walker finally broke his silence about Tupac Shakur, revealing a side of their relationship the public had never fully understood.

Known for being Tupac’s close friend and collaborator during the early 1990s, Stretch had remained mostly quiet following the infamous 1994 Quad Studios shooting in New York, where Tupac was ambushed and wounded — an event that deeply fractured their friendship.

In a rare and emotional conversation just days before his own life was cut short, Stretch spoke candidly about the betrayal Tupac felt after the shooting.

He explained that while he had no involvement, he understood why Tupac was suspicious.

“He got hit up, and I didn’t,” Stretch said.

Stretch, whose real name was Randy Walker, was not only a close friend of Tupac Shakur but also his collaborator in the group Thug Life. They met in the early '90s through

“That alone messed with his head.”

He admitted that the weight of being seen as a traitor by someone he considered a brother was something he carried with pain but also with understanding.

Stretch described their bond as more than just music — it was built on shared struggle, survival, and a dream of rising above the streets.

He spoke of the countless nights they spent crafting songs, talking about revolution, and dreaming of changing the game.

But after that night at Quad Studios, everything changed.

“He didn’t see me the same,” Stretch confessed.

“And I didn’t blame him. But I still loved him, man.”

His words revealed not only remorse but a longing for reconciliation that never came.

There was no anger in his voice, just a heavy sadness — a recognition that both men had been victims of a world where loyalty is often questioned and survival comes at a cost.

Stretch ended the conversation by saying, “If I could talk to ‘Pac one more time, I’d tell him I never turned on him. Never.”

Exactly one week later, on November 30, 1995 — the anniversary of Tupac’s shooting — Stretch was killed in a drive-by shooting in Queens.
