Schottenheimer reaffirmed the Cowboys’ commitment to developing their drafted players, stating, “We’re a draft and develop team. We want to draft guys. We want to develop them.”

He praised both Bland and Ferguson for their consistent work ethic and dedication to the team.

The Cowboys have also been in discussions with Pro Bowl left guard Tyler Smith, who is under contract through 2026 after the team exercised his fifth-year option earlier this spring.

“Hopefully,” Schottenheimer added, “[Smith] is next.”
