Singer Sparkle, born Stephanie Edwards, has continued to speak publicly about her past association with R and B star R Kelly and the painful family rupture that followed.

In a detailed video interview with the digital platform MadameNoire, she revisited key moments from the late 1990s and early 2000s, seeking to clarify what she describes as misunderstandings about her role in introducing her teenage niece to the singer and the events that unfolded afterward.

Sparkle began by acknowledging that the widely discussed documentary series about Kelly contained valuable information, including details she herself had not known.

However, she said several aspects of her personal story were either condensed or presented without sufficient context.

Chief among them, she insisted, was the suggestion that she left her niece alone in a recording studio with Kelly.

According to Sparkle, that never happened.

She recalled the evening her niece arrived at the studio to record material for Sparkle own album project.

Sparkle said she was surprised to see the teenager walk in without a visible adult escort.
