President Trump PANICS, issues SHOCKING statement after ‘horrible’ campus blo*dbath.
Gunfire erupted near Florida State University’s Student Union on Thursday afternoon, injuring several, though the situation is still unfolding.
President Donald Trump has broken his silence about the horrific school shooting unfolding at Florida State University in Tallahassee.
During an afternoon press briefing, Trump said: “I have been briefed on Florida State University, Tallahassee. I’m fully briefed as to where we are right now. It’s a horrible thing. It’s horrible when things like this take place.”
Gunfire was opened on the sprawling northern Florida campus early Thursday afternoon. The “active shooting” is unfolding and the extent of injuries is unknown. It is understood that six have been hospitalized with one in critical condition, however, the fatalities are likely to change.
Students received an alert shortly after noon about an active shooter near the Student Union, telling them to shelter in place.
“Police are on scene or en route,” the student alert read. “Seek shelter, lock doors, stay away from windows, and prepare to take additional protective measures.”
Law enforcement sources told CNN that one suspect with a handgun was taken into custody. Officers also found a shotgun in the student union and another in the suspect’s car.
One local resident who was near the scene of the crime recalled the horror of finding out about the active shooter to the Irish Star.
Tallahassee resident Adia Dauti, 27, who lives off campus with her fiancé, an FSU law school student, told the Irish Star that she was leaving a church down the street from the Student Union when she received an alert on her phone about firing erupting on campus.
The alert sent at 12:29 p.m. EST reads: “Good Afternoon, It has been reported that there is an active shooter at the FSU Student Union. We have been advised to stay indoors until further notice. We will send an update once police advise. Thank you. Capital Association Management.”
She said that her fiancé, Jake, was thankfully at work in the capital, away from the unfolding situation. However, his schoolmates had reached out and informed them that they were locked inside the law school.
Over two hours later, Dauti said that she could still hear police and ambulance sirens from her high-rise apartment near campus where scores of students live.
The school has informed students that all classes, events and business operations will be canceled through tomorrow as it reels from the horrific situation. Sporting events will also be canceled through the weekend.
