These days, the weather in China is in a hot period of nearly 40 degrees Celsius, so the image of Zhu (25 years old) carrying her sick child to deliver food has made many people feel sorry.

According to initial information, the girl is only 4 years old, named Nuoxi.

Every day, her mother puts her in a cooler, then goes with her to deliver food.

Nuoxi is being treated for cancer as an outpatient. She has undergone 3 surgeries, 9 chemotherapy sessions and 12 radiation sessions.

Due to the family’s difficult economic situation, Zhu and her husband did not have enough money to both treat their child and send her to kindergarten.

In the end, the couple agreed to let Zhu take her child along to deliver food.

“There is no one at home to look after her, so I have to take her with me,” Zhu said, revealing that the cost of her child’s treatment has reached 400,000 yuan (1.4 billion VND).

Bringing her child to work is not easy, Zhu has to take advantage of the time to feed her while waiting for new orders.

Sometimes, she has to carry her child with one hand and a bag of food with the other, climbing the stairs of old apartment buildings without elevators.

“As long as my daughter is alive, everything is worth it,” the young mother affirmed.

Despite being young and sick, Nuoxi is very understanding and always tries to listen to her mother. Zhu said that having a well-behaved child like Nuoxi makes her and her husband feel that their efforts are worth it.

Witnessing Zhu’s situation, many people recorded images of her and her child and shared them on social media, hoping that the story would spread and Zhu would receive help.

Fortunately, benefactors quickly came to Zhu to support Nuoxi’s medical treatment.

The local government also quickly helped her family complete the procedures to apply for subsidies.

The food delivery app company that Zhu and her husband work for also provided financial support to Zhu’s family.

Zhu said that her husband drives continuously at a high intensity so he cannot take care of the child.

Zhu delivers orders at a lower frequency than her husband. She and her husband hope to soon have some savings to treat their child and Zhu can stay home to take care of Nuoxi.

“My family is very grateful for everyone’s help. We have overcome the most difficult days and will never give up,” said Guan, the girl’s father.

Food delivery is considered a well-paid job in China, attracting many workers

Many food delivery drivers work 14-15 hours a day to earn a high income. Some food delivery apps in China have implemented an anti-fatigue mechanism, forcing drivers to rest and not being able to accept more delivery orders after 12 hours of continuous work.
