The longtime UFC color commentator has been cageside for the entirety of the UFC women’s history, having begun commentating for the promotion years before the inaugural female fight.

Ronda Rousey submitted Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 with an armbar in what marked the very first women’s fight inside the Octagon.

13 years later, the women’s roster has continued to develop, with all-time greats like Amanda Nunes, Valentina Shevchenko, and Zhang Weili establishing themselves as some of MMA’s top legends.

But some think women’s MMA is still fighting to get the respect that it deserves, and even Rogan has admitted to still finding it harder to watch women fighting.

Joe Rogan admits he has a ‘harder time’ watching UFC women’s fights

Rogan discussed women’s MMA while recently hosting Johnny Knoxville on his podcast.

From Namajunas’ devastating head kick knockout against Weili to Irene Aldana’s forehead gash at the Sphere, the color commentator has had a front-row seat to some of the most memorable and brutal moments on the female side of the sport.

Despite that, though, Rogan has still not fully adjusted to seeing two women duke it out inside the cage.

“I have a harder time watching women get f—- up than I do men,” he said on the Joe Rogan Experience.

“You know, maybe it’s the sexist in me or whatever it is.

“It just seems crazier when they’re doing it, when they’re beating the f— out of each other. For whatever reason,” he added.

“This lady, Irene Aldana, who’s a beast, she got a cut in her forehead that I can’t believe the ref didn’t stop the fight (for). It looked like she got hit in the head with an axe… She’s marching forward throwing bombs… F—— crazy.

“When I was interviewing her, talking to her after the fight, you could see her skull.”

Joe Rogan returns at UFC 324 alongside a new face

While Kayla Harrison vs Amanda Nunes is off UFC 324, Rogan will still have a women’s fight to call on the main card.

The podcaster and stand-up comedian will be commentating on Rose Namajunas vs Natalia Silva alongside Jon Anik and Daniel Cormier in Las Vegas on January 24.

The trio is staying together at the start of the Paramount era, but they will be joined by a new teammate in 2026.

Presenter Kate Scott is joining Rogan and co. at UFC 324. The versatile broadcaster is fluent in four languages and currently leads the widely praised UEFA Champions League coverage on CBS Sports.

Scott will take up the role of desk anchor at UFC 324, where she is expected to be joined by a few UFC veterans.
