Jessica Simpson left her fans confused after she stepped out for the VMAs 2025 on Sunday.

Although the pop star stunned in a Christian Siriano gown, it was her unrecognizable look that had people talking.

“That’s Jessica Simpson? Doesn’t look like her! She does look great, though. I’m trying to figure out who this looks like,” one fan wrote on X.

“I know that’s not Jessica Simpson,” a second person commented while a third chimed in, “Is Jessica Simpson in the room with us?”

Other fans thought that the singer looked like much younger stars.

“I thought it was Addison Rae for a sec,” one penned on Instagram, comparing Simpson to the 24-year-old TikTok star-turned-musician.

“I thought that was Nader at first,” another wrote, referring to Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader, 28.

The fashion designer only had fans more confused after she presented her longtime friend, Ricky Martin, with the first-ever Latin Icon Award, as many pointed out that her face looked “tight.”

“Jessica Simpson looks like she had an allergic reaction to some expired Chicken of the Sea,” one fan joked on X, referring to her infamous moment on her reality TV show, “Newlyweds: Nick and Jessica.”

“jessica simpson went and got [a] fierce facelift,” one wrote while another quipped, “Jessica Simpson…. That face is PULLED TIGHT lol.”

“I don’t recognize Jessica simpson ugh girl please no more surgery. girls please quit that fake face,” one user pleaded.

Some fans defended Simpson’s new look, though. “Jessica Simpson looks amazing y’all need to shut the fawk up,” one said on X.

“People are talking so much about Jessica Simpson’s appearance. She looks stunning! She’s 45 years old. We’re not in the 2000s anymore,” another declared.

In December 2024, Simpson also had fans questioning why she looked so different when she shared an Instagram photo promoting her first album in over a decade.

“Girl who is this,” one fan questioned in her comments section at the time. Another told her, “Woah. You don’t look like jessica.”

The “With You” hitmaker — who lost 100 pounds after changing her diet — has been very transparent about the cosmetic procedures she’s undergone and the negative experiences that came with them.

In her 2020 memoir, “Open Book,” Simpson revealed she underwent two tummy tucks, despite her doctor’s warning that she “could die.” The latter surgery left her hospitalized for nine days with an infection.

“I can tell you that plastic surgery does not cure what’s inside,” she wrote. “Really, it’s about how you feel emotionally, and I was still just as hard on myself once those stitches were out. I still had work to do.”
