U.S. Rep. Jasmine Crockett has responded to President Donald Trump after he called her a “low IQ person” during a Sunday interview on NBC News’ Meet the Press.

During his appearance on the show, Trump said the Democratic Party was in “disarray” and singled out Crockett, a Texas Democrat who has been a critic of the administration and its policies.

“They have a new person named Crockett. I watched her speak the other day. She’s definitely a low IQ person,” the president said.

Crockett went to X on Sunday to hit back at the president’s comment, referring to it as immature and inaccurate.

“Imagine being busy getting another honorary doctorate & delivering the commencement address to encourage & empower the leaders of “Today,” and right before boarding your flight to depart, learning that diabolical delusional demented dumb Don was busy trying to challenge your IQ, again,” Crockett wrote in a post.

Crockett’s criticisms of Trump agenda

Crockett has been critical of the administration’s policies, most notably its elimination of diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) initiatives at companies, universities and other educational institutions, and efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), an entity headed by billionaire Elon Musk.

On a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Crockett referred to the Tesla CEO as “the idiot known as Elon Musk”.

Crockett has also shot barbs at Republican politicians, including Texas Gov. Greg Abbott, whom she called “Governor Hot Wheels” during a speech in March.

Crockett said later that she was referring to the governor’s hard-line immigration policies, not his disability.

“I wasn’t thinking about the governor’s condition — I was thinking about the planes, trains, and automobiles he used to transfer migrants into communities led by Black mayors, deliberately stoking tension and fear among the most vulnerable,” Crockett wrote on X. “Literally, the next line I said was that he was a “hot a– Mess,” referencing his terrible policies.”

Crockett clashed with Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene in 2024 during a House Oversight Committee meeting after the Georgia Republican made a comment about Crockett’s personal appearance. Greene suggested Crockett’s “fake eyelashes” were getting in the way of her reading.

Crockett fired back, referring to Green’s “bleach-blonde, bad-built, butch body.”

Crockett has served as the U.S. representative for Texas’s 30th Congressional District since January 2023.
