Shia LaBeouf, 39, was spotted during a rare outing while picking up some groceries with his wife, English actress Mia Goth, in Pasadena, California, at the weekend.
Former child star Shia LaBeouf looked nearly unrecognizable as he was spotted during a rare outing with his wife at the weekend.
The actor and filmmaker, who made his film debut in The Christmas Path and played Louis Stevens in the Disney Channel series Even Stevens, was seen picking up some groceries with English actress Mia Goth, 31. While on the casual outing in Pasadena, California, the 39-year-old wore a Detroit Lions T-shirt and dark blue shorts with white socks, black sandals and a black cap.
His hair was tucked under the cap and he sported a large mustache, which he had completely shaved a couple of years ago as another of his ever-changing looks. His wife, who is known for starring in horror hits like Suspiria, X and Pearl, wore a light-colored long-sleeved shirt paired with yellow shorts, sneakers and sunglasses.
The couple have been on-and-off since first meeting while filming Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac: Vol. II in 2012. They married in Las Vegas in 2016 but two years later, a representative for the actor announced the pair were divorcing.
However, in 2020 they appeared to have reunited when they were spotted out together with their wedding rings on. Shia and Mia welcomed their daughter Isabel in 2022. The actor shared details about his newborn in a letter to his former Don’t Worry Darling director Olivia Wilde.
The actor wrote, “I have a little girl, Isabel; she is five months old and just beginning to develop the last half of her laugh; it’s AMAZING. Mia, my wife & I have found each other again & are journeying toward a healthy family with love and mutual respect.”
Shia later said while appearing on Jon Bernthal’s REAL ONES podcast that Mia had supported him following a stint in a rehab center – and that receiving a call from her after an extended period of estrangement “saved” him. The star said, “She saved my f—— life.
“She was present for me at a time when I didn’t deserve to have nobody in my life, especially her. She gave me hope when I was really running on fumes.” In May this year, a video emerged on social video showing Shia being repeatedly approached by overeager fans seeking photographs while walking along a boulevard in Cannes, France.
The encounter, captured on video, showed the actor maintaining his calm despite being followed by a group of persistent admirers. After initially accommodating photo requests, Shia finally but firmly asked them to stop when they continued to pursue him.
“It’s pretty clear by Shia’s face he is over one dude in particular, fast… and then he calmly – but sternly – tells the guys to back the F off,” said an onlooker who witnessed the interaction. The restraint marks a notable shift for the actor, who has previously made headlines for confrontational public behavior.
Shia rose to fame in the early 2000s, with his role in Even Stevens earning him a Daytime Emmy Award and establishing him as a recognizable young actor. He further solidified his position as a young actor with his portrayal of Stanley Yelnats in the 2003 movie Holes.
Then in 2007, a major turning point came with the film Disturbia, which was a commercial success and showcased his potential as a leading character. Shia then also starred in the blockbuster Transformers franchise, playing Sam Witwicky, from 2007 to 2011.
