The rapper shares his son with French artist Sophie Brussaux.
Drake is sharing that he has a special connection to the city of Amsterdam.
During his show in Amsterdam on Wednesday, July 30, the rapper, 38, told the crowd that the city holds a special place in his heart since it’s where he and his ex, artist Sophie Brussaux, conceived their now 7-year-old son Adonis.
“I was saying backstage, I was saying that this is the place. A very special place in my heart. Because this is where my son was conceived,” Drake, born Aubrey Graham, told the crowd, in a video shared to X by a fan. “So this is a big show for me, you know? I hold Amsterdam very dear to my heart.”
“There would be no Adonis if there wasn’t an Amsterdam, so shoutout to y’all.”
This past November, Drake shared a heartfelt letter written by his son, Adonis. The “Family Matters” rapper posted a photo to his Instagram Stories that featured the sweet note written by the son to his father.
The handwritten note featured blue and red ink, reading: “Thank you for giving me such a good life and a good family. I love you dad.” Adonis also finished the letter with some clear delivery instructions: “Adonis to Dad.”
When Adonis celebrated his birthday last October, the proud dad celebrated by throwing what appeared to be a SpongeBob SquarePants-themed bash — and sharing father-son snaps.
The “One Dance” rapper marked his little one’s milestone with a sweet Instagram post. He shared two photos, featuring himself and Adonis, backdropped by a Bikini Bottom-inspired setting, including jellyfish and the cartoon’s flower-shaped clouds. SpongeBob-inspired text read, “Adonis’ 7th Birthday.”
“Big Don. 💘,” the rapper captioned the pictures.
On Father’s Day last year, Drake celebrated with his son Adonis and his dad Dennis. In one photo, all three wore cowboy hats and posed in a field, with Adonis standing between his dad and his grandfather, wearing a black hat and a black leather vest.
Another photo showed the three cheesing for a selfie, with Adonis baring his teeth and Drake sweetly smiling for the picture.
“Three generations 💘 Happy Fathers Day to the ones guiding their daughters and sons,” Drake wrote in his caption.
