For years Danis and Pimblett have had disagreements on social media, with the former Bellator star and BJJ black belt referring to the Scouse star as a hype job. The pair’s personalities were always going to clash, with both engaging in countless feuds during their respective careers.

And Danis was able to join the likes of Dustin Poirier and lightweight champion Ilia Topuria in mocking the Brit for his defeat to Justin Gaethje on the first show under the UFC’s new $7.7billion broadcast deal with Paramount.

Almost immediately once Justin Gaethje was given the decision by the judges on Saturday night, Paddy Pimblett’s many enemies began to come out of the woodwork. Ilia Topuria was the main name, slamming him for ruining what would have been a super-fight between them.

But one man who fans were eager to hear from was Dillon Danis, with whom Pimblett has had a number of social media battles. “Said it from the beginning,” he wrote. “Paddy Pimblett f—ing sucks. UFC manufactured hype train exposed.”

Indeed, Danis has been saying this for years, writing back in 2022 after a fight that many feel should have been the Brit’s original UFC defeat to Jared Gordon: “If I don’t finish Paddy Pimblett in under 2 mins I’ll retire and delete all social media forever plus give everyone who likes this 1k each.”

Asked in 2023 about the possibility of the pair fighting after Danis managed to get his Bellator release, Pimblett seemed keen. “If he gets signed let’s do it,” he said. “He fought Logan Paul and threw about six punches, he threw more punches at security guards than he did at Logan Paul.”
