Paddy Pimblett received a lot of praise after suffering his first loss inside the Octagon.

‘The Baddy’ showed tremendous heart to go five rounds in the interim lightweight title fight that headlined the first UFC card of the year.

That being said, Pimblett’s performance was slammed by Ilia Topuria and several other fighters in the same division as ‘The Baddy’.

One fighter who was sure to have some feelings on the bout is a man that has exchanged some scathing comments with the Brit in recent times.

The relationship between Pimblett and Dan Hooker became a personal feud very quickly, with both men pulling no punches.

Dan Hooker says Paddy Pimblett is in the ‘deep end’ following his first UFC loss

Paddy Pimblett warned Dan Hooker about showing up to UFC 324 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas this past weekend.

This was never going to happen considering that ‘The Hangman’ will be back in action this weekend when the Octagon returns to Australia for UFC 325.

While Hooker is focused on his clash with Benoit Saint-Denis, he did catch some of the interim lightweight title fight that headlined last Saturday’s event.

“I thought he [Pimblett] was dog s— as usual,” he told The Ariel Helwani Show. “He looks like a baby giraffe, f—— elbows flying in the air, jumping in the air. Yeah, he looks r——- to me when he fights.”

Hooker went on to explain that he wasn’t impressed by Pimblett’s toughness because fighting someone like Justin Gaethje isn’t “the hard part”.

He believes that getting to those top level fights and then staying there is the most difficult aspect, which he thinks ‘The Baddy’ skipped over and will now be forced to do.

“He’s been managed very well and he’s been shortcut over a lot of fighters very well but now, he’s in the deep end… The hard part is now there is no more easy fights,” Hooker said. “It’s a lesson that I’ve learned the hard way as well. For the rest of his career, there’s no fights where you’re just going to go out there and you’re just going to skate by and outclass this guy. That’s it. For the rest of your days and he’s gonna learn that.”

The 35-year-old went on to add that he believes Pimblett’s lack of wear and tear has given him an advantage over opponents, but he doesn’t think “the kid’s gonna be around for that long” once this starts to catch up to him.

Dan Hooker explains the reasoning behind his quick turnaround for UFC 325

Dan Hooker was submitted by Arman Tsarukyan in November in what was his first fight back in over a year.

‘The Hangman’ said during his appearance on ‘The Ariel Helwani Show’ that the loss left a bad taste in his mouth, though he hadn’t had much time to reflect on it.

Competing in Australia at UFC 325 was an opportunity that he accepted as soon as he was offered it, even before he knew the opponent.

Hooker said that when he found out it was Benoit Saint-Denis he was fighting, he described it as a “best case scenario” due to the Frenchman only being two spots lower than him in the rankings.
